In this era of the so-called freedom of expression, assassins and cruel criminals who have committed and continue to commit crimes against humanity publicize their atrocities on platforms like TikTok without restriction. This is the profile of the man who has killed over 2,000 children, women, and men — all unarmed civilians. His real name is Al-Fateh Abdullah Idris, nicknamed Abu Lulu. To you, free and conscious citizens of this sick world: do what you can with this information.

‼️#BookOfShame is finally out! The collective work, which denounces the structural violence and inefficiency of @Refugees, was presented during the transnational day of solidarity and struggle - from #Geneva to #Agadez. When we act together, borders cannot silence us. 1/2

Read @RefugeesinLibya's Book of Shame: "This book is more than a catalogue of failures. It is a collective act of resistance, a political intervention by refugee human rights defenders who refuse to be silenced." refugeesinlibya.org/book-of-shame

🔷 EXCERPTS FROM LIVE WEBINAR. Two days ago, during the press conference of the launch of the “Book of Shame” in front of the UNHCR global headquarters in Geneva, we were joined by our comrades in Niger, Agadez, at the so-called Humanitarian Center, who were simultaneously engaging in their peaceful protest, which as of today has reached 357 days. The accounts of their plights can only be understood in this short video: children abandoned in the desert, food rations deliberately cut as a punishment for their peaceful and rightful protest, asking for a dignified life, access to education for their children, and protection from the desert’s unforgiving conditions. You have to imagine that for a whole year, every day, these children wake up—if they ever get a normal sleep—to stand in line and raise their banners with words like: “No life in the desert and future,” “We don’t want to stay here anymore.” It is their voices that fill up the “Book of Shame.” At Refugees in Libya, we know the price so well—the price that UNHCR charges us, the refugees, the asylum seekers, when we say: “You are doing good, but you could do better,” or when we say: “UNHCR is ignoring us.” The punishment is always real, direct or indirect. As a result of knowing this hefty price, we have been in direct contact with our comrades in Niger every day for 357 days. We have, on live video calls, seen how the Nigerien authorities kidnapped six human rights defenders for having organised the protest, and to this day there is no accurate information about their whereabouts. We equally have seen how UNHCR stood by and, to this day, has issued no statement. Among the six human rights defenders kidnapped were three women, who now have been separated from their nine children. We have got all the reasons and rights to have written this powerful yet ever shameful book. Go read it, spread their voices, pressure your governments to do something, pressure the @Refugees, @UNHCRNiger to reinstate the food supply as soon as possible. And for your information, this camp is and was built as part of EU border externalisation and containment architectures.

Well, we haven’t even begun to share the full contents of this book or the many hidden, horrific stories and testimonies it carries yet. Bit by bit, we will cite and quote them. I hope the militias in Libya will read this, as well as UNHCR staff in Tripoli, Tunis, Agadez, and around the world. I hope it reaches EU politicians and policymakers, the citizens of Libya, Tunisia, Niger, and beyond. I hope it is heard by our solidarity networks across Europe—and, most importantly, by the refugees and migrants who are still trapped in the horror camps we mention, as well as those who survived the journey and now live in Europe, the U.S., Australia, and elsewhere. We will take this book to every UNHCR headquarters in Europe. And to you: Brussels, Strasbourg, and Rome—don’t worry—we will knock on your fortress doors of indifference and complicity in crimes against humanity in Libya, Tunisia, and Niger. @Refugees @RefugeesMedia @UNHCRLibya @UNHCRNiger @EUCourtPress @eu_eeas @Left_EU @sallyhayd @LarryMadowo @refugeesniger @RefugeesinLibya @RefugeesTunisia @davide_tommasin

We did what refugees are never supposed to do: we wrote a book that names and criticises the humanitarian agencies that are meant to be our “saviours” For years, they wrote about us. Reports, statistics, projects. Now we have written about them—about UNHCR, IOM, and the EU. And we called it the “Book of Shame”. Please check it out on: refugeesinlibya.org/book-of-shame

‼️The Italy–Libya Memorandum of Understanding leads to the daily rape, torture, detention, enslavement, and killing of thousands of people. By early November, this agreement will be automatically renewed by the Italian and Libyan governments — both of which are, and will continue to be, responsible for this suffering. In October 2021, we took to the streets of Tripoli to denounce this shameful agreement and show the world its true impact on us: people on the move, migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. ⛔️ We won’t stop until this Memorandum is abolished and all those responsible are brought to justice!

10 Jahre zivile Seenotrettung – 175.000 gerettete Menschenleben.
