Friendly reminder that the large majority of the confusion in the church doesn't come from general conference talks and modern revelation. It doesn't really even come from mixed signals we sometimes get from the church pressroom... the members aren't immersing themselves in conference talks daily, or checking the news/pressroom, but you know what they ARE doing daily/hourly/ day & night, checking in on their favorite "mormon influencers." Most of the confusion in the church comes from members who put their trust in influencers who often disagree with certain doctrines, and conference talks, and love to post about it, and write books about it. Many of these influencers are living lives that go against the gospel but have a selfish need for you to affirm and accept their choices as being ok. These Influencers have strong opinions that they mingle with scripture while banking on you trusting them and that what they say is true and in context, but most of their opinions are not formed in doctrine and the words of the prophets but formed in activism and a toxic need for acceptance, likes and to be seen of their followers to be loving, kind and accepting of everyone. How in the world have we gotten to a place that people in the church are offended by a proclamation from prophets about what "The Family" is? That we think we can just ignore the first paragraph and interpret it to mean what we think it should have said and not what it says? How in the world have we gotten to a place that people in the church think a man can be a woman or that gay sealings are coming in the future despite recent talks explicitly saying these are ETERNAL truths and doctrines that CANNOT change? Why are there members of the church who pray for changes in the church doctrine because of worldly ideas an societal changes rather than praying for understanding or clarity, or praying that if their beliefs are false that THEY might have a change of mind and heart? We should pray for more inspired documents like "The Family" that clarify confusions and teach us God's will, and correct our wrong beliefs and ideas... not for the church to change to accept our beliefs. We cannot create God in our own image, but we were created in HIS image and it is OUR job to change, not his. #lds #ldsx #ldstwitter #ldstwt @Ch_JesusChrist #family #thefamily
