Modern woman says she went on a date and the guy kept ordering ‘old fashions’ back to back to back even before she could finish her own drink. What would you do in this situation and why do you think he got sloshed on this first date⁉️😅👑

I feel like the Bay Area keeps studying this and never does anything. There absolutely should be a Geary Subway. There should probably be a 19th Ave elevated line
Anthony Lazarus@Sr_Lazarus

i wonder if @Kalshi takes bets on whether a new #SF subway will be built before we're all dead

@TaupeAvenger I’m sorry but this would require a moderately functional federal government and we just can’t have that.

There is private investment in this space. Also, a it is a little easier to build a project like railroad when you don’t have to worry about private property, environmentalist groups, environmental regulation, engineering specifications and standards, safety standards, or labor costs (thanks to Irish and Chinese laborers). You are comparing apples to oranges here. These projects are being constructed in completely different worlds. gobrightline.com/press-room/202…

@cdmusing @SureFireSearle @NavyStrang New choices spurring competition? Competition comes from private investment. If there is money to be made then capitalists will invest. The Transcontinental Railroad was built in under 7 years in the 1860s. Almost 2k miles through the Rockies and Sierras. Shows what CA became

@SureFireSearle @JerryChilds @NavyStrang You’d think if there are more options that would generate competition which would drive cost down. Also, this is the first line. Hopefully, we can get better at building these lines and build them faster. One would think that economy of scale would drive cost down as well.

@JerryChilds @NavyStrang i understand that for sure - but i guess the reasonable man asks - cant you get through it even faster by air, and probably for the same ticket cost, and just save those....few hundred billion dollars.....instead?

@GovPressOffice So why is this bridge so much more expensive than comparable bridges? No one’s arguing the bridge as a concept. This bridge is 8X more than other similar bridges. Will probably be 10X when all said and done.

MAGA's outrage over a project that literally SAVES LIVES tells you everything! This freeway project, grounded in decades of research, restores a critical wildlife corridor and reduces DEADLY collisions on one of the busiest highways in the country — protecting both drivers and animals. FACT: The cost estimate held until last year when inflation — in part driven by TRUMP’s TARIFFS — increased construction costs. The increase is vastly LOWER than the 67% national average increase in highway construction costs. FACT: The timeline shifted by just ONE YEAR largely due to severe weather last year — five years of work is far from a “boondoggle.”
End Wokeness@EndWokeness

California already spent $114 million on this unfinished wildlife crossing bridge (leading nowhere)

@HustleBitch_ Our definition of a “nice view” is a little different. Also, WiFi router right next to the bed? Might want to move that to the other room. I’m sure the location is great though. Enjoy while you can make it work.

🚨 SHE HAPPILY PAYS $3,175 A MONTH FOR A 350 SQ FT APARTMENT IN NYC — AND CALLS IT A “DEAL” — WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE INSIDE A woman just showed her NYC apartment… and you can basically see the entire place the second you walk in. Only ONE real window. No washer or dryer. Barely any storage. They had to add their own kitchen island… build extra storage… and stack shoes wherever they fit just to make it livable. She says she uses artificial lighting just to make it feel brighter… and hauls laundry down the street every week. And somehow… this is considered a “deal.” She says renovated units in the same building go for over $4,000/month. The part that’s blowing people’s minds? She says she loves it… and doesn’t want to leave. At what point does “living in New York” stop being the dream… and start feeling like you’re paying luxury prices to live in a box?

@RIPDiplomacy @HowardTheDuck48 @NYPostOpinion Utah built an animal crossing over I80 in parleys canyon for approximately $5M. That makes more sense. California’s regulatory and permitting system is broken, inflating cost due to ridiculous requirements.

@HowardTheDuck48 @NYPostOpinion It reduces habitat disruption and animal highway crossings, by allowing a seamless path for animals to cross. It isn't a bad idea in theory in practice, as it is literally just a normal freeway bridge with some soil and foliage on it. The problem is this one is way over budget.

@510sVeryOwn @SFCPA If not wanting to enable ppl to live on the streets in squalor while openly using drugs makes me an asshole, guilty as charged. I want to help people clean up and live their best lives. That is what a healthy society looks like. That shouldn’t be controversial.

Just because he’s facedown does not mean he’s asleep. It’s proven that the physical and psychological effects of drugs can lead to agitation, aggression, and cognitive impairment that might in turn heighten risk of violence. Furthermore, there is also a very strong link between drug use and the comorbidity of mental illnesses which correlates with a higher rate of violence. This guy has clearly been on the street, out of his mind for a while, which points to poly drug abuse and severe comorbid mental illness. He needs to be placed in a psychiatric ward for his own safety and for the public’s safety. Not sure why this obvious fact needs to be spelled out. Nevertheless, he does not belong on public transportation that is funded by taxpayers.

@cdmusing @SFCPA Because he’s face down asleep in a seat. That’s how it’s clear. FYI, stats will show more violent crime committed by those who are housed vs the homeless so stop the fear-mongering about how unstable they are.

@SFCPA I will never understand how a normal person could see someone vulnerable & their only thought is to take a picture to receive validation from other assholes online. It’s clear this person wasn’t a threat to you; all you had to do was ignore them but you needed attention…
