We were thrilled to welcome award winning author @tompalmerauthor to Class Four today. Tom took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the pupils about his next two writing projects. As a special treat, he generously gifted each pupil a signed copy of one of his books.

This half term we are celebrating the beautiful value of Friendship. Thank you to @bookwagonuk for recommending these incredible books that perfectly capture this theme. These stories inspire our pupils to cherish their friendships and explore the wonderful connections we share.

Thanks to a generous donation, our KS2 pupils now have access to a fantastic range of new books. We believe reading opens up a world of possibilities and is a gateway to endless adventures. #oldhuttonreads

This week one of our Year Six pupils wrote this amazing poem to explain what love means to them. I think they’ve summed it up perfectly ❤️

Year Six had an amazing time walking up Blencathra today! In tricky windy conditions the pupils showed so much perseverance to make it to the summit. A brilliant way to launch this year’s adventure curriculum.

We’ve had a brilliant first day back at school today! It was great to share the amazing Be Normal by Ged Adamson in our very first whole school assembly of the year, the book is all about the importance of being yourself.

A group of our Year 5/6 pupils had a brilliant time this morning paddleboarding on Lake Windermere!

Reading Club were really excited to receive their copy of Bob vs The Selfie Zombies by Andy Jones last night. The pupils love reading the story together and talking about the plot and characters. Thank you to @bookwagonuk for providing the copies of the books.

KS2 Reading Club are really enjoying the excellent Tyger by @whatSFSaid . The pupils love coming together every Tuesday after school to read together and talk about the brilliant story. Thank you to @bookwagon for providing a copy for each pupil.

Class Three and Four Reading Club are really enjoying the brilliant Floodworld by @TomHuddleston_ the group love meeting after school every Tuesday to read and discuss the book. Thank you to the brilliant @bookwagonuk for providing the books.

What a brilliant day on Windermere! Class Three loved their first paddleboarding and canoeing session.
