@TheNBABase Dybantsa is 6'9" Kobe. He's the closest example to Kobe I've seen among younger players. If he's available, you take him.

A Western Conference GM on why AJ Dybantsa is the favorite for No. 1: “I guess you'd rather fail with [AJ] and his upside, than not. And I know Peterson has upside, maybe Boozer's upside is a little bit less. ... I just think that [AJ], because he's 6-9 and he could be like 6-10, 230 [pounds] by the time he's 25 years old, he could just be a monster. I think you've just got to go down swinging with him if you go down.” (Via @JeremyWoo )

@themancalledroy @GiannisOwnsYou3 Dane was not a terrible fit with giannis. Doc rivers is at fault for how he ran that offense. They were the best PNR duo in the league that year and hardly ever ran it.

I GENUINELY wish the worst for you Doc You destroyed the Clippers (LobCity) You damn near destroyed the 76ers You DESTROYED Milwaukee WITH GIANNIS , DAME AND KHRIS MIDDLETON! You got lucky 1 year in Boston because of that over powered ass team. You’ve been shit for fucking decades and you can’t take accountability as a grown ass man.

Doc Rivers on Bucks being eliminated from playoff contention: "It's been disappointing, obviously. Since I've been here, I haven't had a healthy stretch and it's been your key guys. It's been Giannis. It's been Dame ... This year, having only one quote-unquote star, every other team has two and three. We needed health. We were thin ... All the talk and all that stuff probably didn't help either." (via @eric_nehm)

Y so serious
Y so serious@idontgetball·
it just fuckint sucks man. this guy is legit the greatest, most complete talent the NBA has ever seen when you factor in for every single basketball skill on an objectively level. like he breaks the scales on certain basketball fundamentals, but his team is so fucking dogshit at putting actual basketball talent around him its insane. and he fucking asks this season to fucking improve, and his GM responds by maikint ZERO moves at the fucking deadline to add talent Embiid for 10 years or however you want to say, has been the best FT drawer and FT scorer the league has EVER seen. Embiid is the objective GOAT at the easiest, most valuable shot in NBA history, at minimum a T3 defender for as long as he's lived, guaranteed 53+ FG% - 37+ 3P% , 62+ TS% guaranteed, 30+ points guaranteed with rebounding, size, the BEST shot creation at the big man position, and its not even CLOSE, no big has ever been as talented as Embiid at making scoring plays. he's the best shot creator for any big man ever (PF/C) and he also averages the most points per minute. like you numerically break down the value of the things that Embiid provides, and you see how fundamentally, this is just one of the greatest players ever, and if we're talking talent or pure on the court production, arguably the best. glad i never took it for granted. ya need to learn basketball and what it means to bleed for this shit and learn it, mastering it.

“Investing into this account” “Going with the Celtics today” “If this player was healthy then X” “LeBron is crazy for doing this” Every other tweet is recycled NBA Twitter is a shell of itself. Random highlights, quote tweet farming, we’ve lost the plot. People used to become big accounts by putting out creative tweets, inciting discussion, teaching people new things. People tweet for money now, not for the people. Mobile games are the same way now. Remember the mobile game era in 2012-2016? Games were made for people to enjoy, now it’s just slop after slop. As things become more popular, quality declines. We’ve stopped valuing what made things fun in the first place. What is the meaning of an app? What is the meaning of a service? What is it that made something special. People are losing their sense of identity to try to conform to others, telling themselves that a lesser product is OK because their friends say so. Look at Stranger Things season 5, the entire thing was garbage but there’s millions that think it’s great. The downward trend of nearly every single avenue of entertainment is truly sad. Sinners being the most decorated film of all time? Nintendo with the Switch 2 putting out remakes of old games and calling it a day…??? Pixar in the late 2000s and early 2010s released one incredible movie after another. Every movie told a story that both parents and kids could understand and enjoy. Now it’s just slop that is rated as such, but it makes money so they don’t care. Kids can’t even get through the full movies anymore, because their attention span is ruined from doomscrolling and MrBeast. You can call it nostalgia but at some point it’s just depressing. There’s so much money to be made through media that quantity has overtaken quality and so many haven’t realized it.

@chowgap @SamQuinnCBS What are the Bucks gonna do with that though? It's not like they would be able to seriously contend, but those Magic Picks aren't gonna be all that valuable either. Tanking also won't be a thing until 2031.

An underrated component of the "how will Giannis age" debate: I'd sort of thought for awhile that as Giannis got older, he'd have to play more center. But that was in early 2020s pace-and-space world, not mid-2020s jumbo ball world. I'm not sure he can play as much center today. So that puts teams in a sort of uncomfortable position where they not only have to play Giannis at 4, but they have to be able to supply him with a types of supporting pieces that are harder to find. A center who can shoot. Low-usage, defensively-oriented guards. A capable late-game creator who holds up defensively but doesn't need to run the offense most of the game. Basically, the 2021 Bucks. Brook, Jrue and Middleton. Those guys are scarce. I think "should team X trade everything for Giannis" is a very team-by-team thing. The Heat should because what else are the Heat doing with that stuff? Giannis is still good enough that it's worthwhile for them, even if he's going to get harder to build around with time. But if you're talking about the Houstons and Detroits and San Antonios of the world, who have all of the flexibility to build whatever sort of team they want? Those constraints make it harder to justify an all-in offer.
Heat Central@HeatCulture13

Zach Lowe and Bill Simmons debate if it’s worth it for Miami to offer ‘everything’ for Giannis in the offseason due to his recent injury history: Zach: Bucks will get a mother load. I’ll stick with it. I think the Heat will trade everything we thought they would at the trade deadline. He’s still a top 5 NBA player Bill: Is he? He doesn’t play. He’s closer to Embiid than Jokic. He gets hurt all the time. I’d be really scared. You’re telling me if I’m Miami I have to trade all my assets and sign you to a $280M extension for 4 years and don’t know if you can play? If I’m Miami, trading everything I have and then signing up for 4 more years and not 100% sure I’m getting Giannis from 2022. I’d be really nervous about it. I don’t think I would do it (Via Bill Simmons Podcast)

@Jcs_Daniel @SamQuinnCBS Paolo is the best player they’re gonna get unless the Cavs give up Mobley. I think the bucks would take either in a trade and a desperate team like the Cavs or magic would easily pull that trigger.

@chowgap @SamQuinnCBS Oh, right. Still though, Isaac is a horrible contract. They'd have to give anyone picks just to take that on. Not sure it's worth it to trade those two and nearly all your picks just for Giannis.

@chowgap @SamQuinnCBS Hard to make the salaries work if you also want to keep Franz, Bane and Suggs. Paolo is just 15mil at the moment. Also wouldn't want to lose Carter Jr. as he's the center that can hit 3s that was mentioned in the OP. I don't see it.

@sixringsofsteeI @EnjoyBBall Clingan has been THAT DUDE for months now. Idk how he goes under the radar. But he’s a year away from overtaking Sengun. Unbelievable rebounder and shot blocker to go with finishing ability around the rim and a consistent 3pt shot right around the corner.

Thoughts on yesterdays NBA games @EnjoyBBall: - It's got to the point where Donovan Clingan is a top 2 piece to Portland's future - Healthy Denver is the best offensive team in the league - Maxime Raynaud deserves All-Rookie 1st team right now - The Washington Wizards might never win again - Tyler Kolek scored 53 points yesterday hope everyone knows - Rasheer Fleming is shooting 48% from 3 over his last 15 fyi - That 4th quarter from Boston was probably their worst quarter all year - Ayo Dosunmu has been one of the best trade deadline pickups so far
