Let's compare the app opening and closing animations in iOS 27 Beta 1 and One UI 8.5. The app animations in iOS 27 are not significantly different from those in iOS 26, and some long-standing issues are still present. When you tap an app icon, the animation does not start instantly and still feels slightly delayed, making the system response appear less immediate. The same applies when returning to the home screen. There is still a brief hesitation at the very beginning of the animation before the full transition starts. One UI 8.5, on the other hand, delivers top-tier performance, especially after my own tuning and optimization. Whether opening an app or returning to the home screen, the animations feel almost perfectly synchronized with your finger movements. The response is immediate, the transitions are smoother, and the overall experience feels more natural and connected.

@UniverseIce I use android devices as my main phone. Samsung is the closest one to feel buttery like IOS. But comparing a first beta with 8.5 is not Apple to apples at all.

I'm honestly pumped for a software update that's mostly just combing through the fine details, performance improvements, etc. Liquid Glass and a lot of recent design elements have felt sloppy. The fact that "same corner radius in every Mac app" had to be an announced feature is wild. Very ready for a cleaner, more efficient MacOS, iOS, etc.

"The decision not to roll out Siri AI in the EU is Apple's and Apple's only," spokesperson Thomas Regnier told reporters in Brussels, saying there was nothing in the Digital Markets Act to stop the company from introducing new products in the EU.

@sickplayer124 it didn't but it seems that indexing has nothing to do with new Siri availability. cause there's a lot of people who got new Siri before their indexing finished

@AdamsBunnyranch @scottstts then go buy an android or linux phone. iOS is closed source in closed ecosystem, they never promised being open and I don't understand why EU requires such things from a private company

EU claims that Apple refusing to open OS level deep integration to other AI is the reason why it can’t launch in EU But if you really care about user privacy, why would you want anyone to be able to access user info embedded deep in IOS?

Forcing users to choose how legible they want UI controls to be is wild. Apple's designers should obsess over where this setting belongs and make it the default. macOS/iOS have always been opinionated about these kinds of things. An abstract UI legibility slider is not the way.

Apple Intelligence should run locally on devices that support it like M5 Macs with 128GB. There’s zero need to send it to the cloud. It would probably be faster on-device anyway.

As someone who’s been building a personal ai agent I see how the EU has a point. 3rd party solutions will never get as frictionless as Apple’s without getting access to a level playing field. The market for this is so huge I don’t see how Apple can keep it locked down for long.
AppleInsider@appleinsider

Apple briefed the EU on how Siri AI worked months ago and tried to find a compromise. The EU stood firm and insisted keeping other vendors out of the new feature was illegal. By @WGallagher appleinsider.com/articles/26/06…

@tanmays there's no point for a general user. full access will be used to sell data, not to provide a better service. tech freaks who understand what they are doing always will be a minority. if u want that, just switch to android and fuck off private company that never promised u shit

@decktydeck thats just an example but smaller models can do simple tasks locally even on phones, like why do you need a Cloud model to setup your alarm?
