I've never understood the whole 'share your location' thing and it has me worried I'm turning into Old Man Yelling At Clouds
Neither I nor my wife have ever shared location (with anyone). I didn't even know it was a thing people did. Seems bizarre, but apparently is normal?

i once dated someone and we got into a playful argument about why they wouldn’t share location “i’m a very private person, this feels like it’s moving too fast, that’s a big step” months later, after it didn’t work out, we were friends and i said “ok i need your location for logistics” he admitted the real reason he wouldn’t share it was because he never left the house and didn’t want anyone to see

16 years ago I waited in a long line outside the apple store to buy the first ipad. I was so excited to walk home with it!
The very next morning I dropped it on the bathroom floor and cracked the screen. And I don’t mean a tiny crack. It was completely wrecked. There was no apple care back then. I wasn’t earning that much. I was devastated.
I went back to the apple store to see if they can replace the screen and how much it would cost. I was afraid the only solution was to buy a new one.
“Hi how can I help you?”
“I’m a dumbass” and showed him the cracked screen.
“Oh man. Let me see what I can do.”
He took my cracked ipad somewhere in the back. About ten minutes later he came back. He was holding a box.
“Be more careful next time.”
He handed me a brand new ipad. For free. I couldn’t believe it. He didn’t have to do that. He could’ve just said “sorry nothing we can do” but instead he went and persuaded his boss to do a good deed for a complete stranger.
I don’t think stuff like this happens anymore. But 16 years ago, that interaction with an apple store employee left a profound mark on me.

Ukrainian forces are attacking Russian vessels in the Mediterranean Sea out of new bases they’ve established in Libya.
200+ Ukrainian soldiers have arrived in Libya according to Radio France Internationale (RFI).
The French public broadcaster's article reveals details of a covert Ukrainian military presence in Libya as part of a broader "shadow war" between Ukraine and Russia on the African continent.
More than 200 Ukrainian officers and technical experts have deployed in western Libya with the explicit approval of the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity (GNU) led by Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibah.
They operate from three main sites:
- The Air Force Academy in Misrata
- A drone launch facility in Zaouia
- A coordination center near Tripoli International Airport
In exchange for their being allowed to hit Russian ships, Ukraine provides drone training to Libyan forces, with potential longer-term deals on arms supplies and investment in Libyan oil.
The presence is linked to Ukrainian operations targeting Russia’s shadow fleet.
RFI sources claim Ukrainian forces launched attacks from Libyan territory on March 3rd, striking the Russian LNG tanker
