@AndrewLSeidel I’ve been trying to follow you on BS but you are blocking me. Not sure why? I’m bsky.app/profile/sassil…. Please unblock my profile and look at my bio. I’m fighting CN like yourself and I have a doctorate in religious sociology. Thanks!

Man I’m going to miss the hell out of Pete Buttigieg and how he breaks down complex issues so that people can actually digest what is going on around them. He’s such a phenomenal messenger for Democrats! He is the future of the party! #wtpBlue #DemVoice1

@DrewSav Also he won the popular vote so resisting the will of the people is a lot less popular than resisting a fluke in the American voting system.

Why isn't there an organized resistance to Trump this time? It's because it's been nine years of Trump. The public is thoroughly exhausted and no matter what he does he gets away with it. People are tired and demoralized.

@jonfavs @levie The Democratic Party is run by elite northeasterners and CA. I live in NC and we’ll never go blue again if you don’t start picking your leaders from the Midwest and the South.

Thanks, and I totally hear that. My view on all this: The campaign should in no way be above criticism. I didn't agree with every answer they gave (understand the constraints but think they still could've made a sharper break from Biden), and I didn't agree with every tactic during the campaign (we spent time questioning some on PSA). I've also never been shy about criticizing the party - there are people who still won't speak to me because we called on Biden to step aside. All that said, I guess the reason I had a different reaction to the interview is that I was just interested in a perspective that none of us had - what it was like to sit inside the campaign surrounded by a wealth of data and resources and a million decisions to make when you get a new nominee with 100 days left and the polling is showing a Trump landslide. To your point about Rogan: it sounded like the campaign genuinely believes that Rogan wouldn't have been worth taking her away from a battleground state in the final weeks. Not sure I agree, but that seems to be their honest view, and it's hard to prove the counterfactual. Every campaign makes mistakes, even winning campaigns. When you lose - and lose to Donald Fucking Trump - those mistakes understandably get more scrutiny. And if she had lost the election by like 10,000 votes in one swing state state, I'd personally be looking a lot harder at data on which tactics failed and why the strategy was off. But because: a) the national shift to the right was so big, b) Biden only beat Trump by 40k votes last time, and c) Harris was saddled with an extremely unpopular president and a global anti-incumbent environment, I'm more interested in what we can all do to reform and build a party with candidates who can win a real majority - WH, red/purple Senate seats, etc. Some of that will be learning from tactical mistakes made by the Harris campaign. I suspect much of it will go beyond that.

I think people need to decide if they're genuinely interested in finding out what went wrong in 2024 so Dems can win again, or if they're just going to reject any data or information that doesn't confirm all their political beliefs. I wish there wasn't so much nuance and uncertainty in politics - but that's the world we live in.

When I became a Democrat, it was the more tolerant party. Republicans were run by religious nut jobs and corporate robots. Now, the Democrats are in a lot of ways the less tolerant party. The least tolerant part is actually the establishment wing of the party that says anyone opposing their anointed leaders is committing heresy. If you try to give constructive criticism of the party to improve it, they drive you from the party while screaming, “He’s not a real Democrat!!” They hate populists. They have become the corporate robots I couldn’t stand. They hate their base. They insult our intelligence by pretending that the donors are not in charge. They think we should be controlled and learn how to follow orders. And they have no idea how elitist they sound. Predictably, their unironic reaction to this post will be, “Heretic!!”

Our country is at a crossroads. What we saw today has never happened before, and I think for the majority of Americans, it raises questions about whether our legal system can be trusted. Pray for our nation, for God‘s guiding hand that this republic will be one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.

@SenThomTillis NC Independent voter here. While I’ve agreed with some of your votes-funding Ukraine, eg-this statement makes me respect you less. Saying nothing would be best. You’re undermining the rule of law by insisting that the trial was rigged. I’d like to see your proof. #PoorGOPVictims

I am shocked by the verdict considering that this case should have never been brought forward. From the beginning, it was clear that a radical, politically-motivated state prosecutor was using the full weight of his office to go after President Trump at the same time he turned a blind eye to violent criminals. I expect and hope that President Trump will appeal this verdict to address fundamental questions, including whether President Trump received a fair trial and whether the Manhattan D.A. even had jurisdiction on a federal election matter.

You knew it was going to happen all season. Anders Carlson, chance to give #Packers a TD lead in the fourth quarter, biffs it. His 41-yard field goal no good, wide left. His fifth straight game with a missed kick.

@highbrow_nobrow So ever since 1968, every GOP president has come to power in some highly corrupt or otherwise highly despicable fashion. Nixon 1968 - sabotaged peace talks Reagan 1980 - Iran hostages Bush 1988 - Willie Horton ad Bush 2000 - Florida shenanigans Trump 2016 - Russian assistance

Republicans are going mad over President Biden’s new Executive Order strengthening Gun Background checks. They say it's "unconstitutional" because the 2nd Amendment states “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,” FACTS matter though, so here are the facts: In the more than 100 years that background check laws have existed, no court has ever deemed them unconstitutional under the Second Amendment. There have been approximately 5 million firearm sales denied in the US since 1994 and not a single court challenge has ever been overturned due to 2nd Amendment concerns. Gun permits are denied for the following reasons after a background check: - Convicted of crime punishable by prison for more than 1 year. - Fugitive from justice - Addicted or illegally using controlled substance - Certain mental illnesses - Illegally in the U.S. - Dishonorably discharged from US Military. - Court order for threats, talking or harassment. - Domestic violence conviction. - Under the age of 18 and/or 21. Why do Republicans think these people should own guns?

@taradublinrocks @megynkelly I don’t think Megyn’s tweet was necessary or smart and a person should have better things to do than complain about someone else’s use if titles, but in the interest of facts and fairness, I want to point out that Jill Biden does not have a Ph.D.

Announcers for this Eagles-49ers game just spotted the First Lady in a box and of course call her “Dr. Jill Biden.” Wonder if she realizes what a wannabe she looks like insisting on this fake title. Get a real MD or just work on your self-esteem.
