I’ve been living with Type 1 diabetes since 1977. Now on a pump, CGM and using hybrid closed loop with CamAPS.

Older adults with type 1 diabetes deserve better care. I've submitted a briefing to the APPG for Diabetes, calling for urgent action to address gaps in care home support. Lifespans are increasing—but care systems haven’t kept up. It's time to act!

Hello #T1D folks! Some Qs: - How long have you been living with T1? - How long have you heard "cure" stories and promises? - Are you tired of the incessant "donate for a cure" posts on your socials? I'll start. - 40 years. - around 38 years. - Absolutely.

I spoke about things that had a majorly negative impact on me. I won’t be doing that again.

Thank you @FoysolChoudhury for continued support on the massive diabetes tech issue #DiabetesTechCantWait Why do Scotland not have a plan?! THINGS NEED TO CHANGE😡 @neilcgray @jenni_minto @djohnsonmsp Wish we had someone like @parthaskar in Scotland who makes changes 🤬🤬🤬

#FMQs: Today is #WorldDiabetesDay. Diabetes tech can transform lives, but Scotland’s waiting lists are extremely long. England & Wales have 5-year plans; where’s Scotland’s? #DiabetesTechCantWait #FairAndEqualAccess @DiabetesUK @DiabetesScot @BreakthroughT1D

🔊Sound on!🔊 We're excited to introduce our new film, ‘What a cure feels like’, celebrating our transformation to Breakthrough T1D! The film features real people affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) and captures the relentless nature of living with T1D and the hundreds of extra decisions made each day. We would like to say a special thank you to @tara_humphrey and her daughter Tahlia, @LisWarren, @joem_ and his partner Salman and @Jonpeach5 who shared their experiences and worked alongside us to create this film. Together, let's raise awareness and inspire hope for a future without T1D💙 #BreakthroughT1D #WhatACureFeelsLike #T1D #GBDoc

Honoured to chair a roundtable on life-saving diabetes tech. We heard from professionals Professor Partha Kar, Dr Stuart Ritchie & Dexcom, campaigners iPAG & many with lived experience, such as Adam. We must remove barriers to this tech & increase funding #DiabetesTechCantWait

“Upgrades” have started More people with #T1Diabetes getting on to #ClosedLoops “The best thing science can provide-at the mo-beyond a cure” I repeat-the switch is cost neutral or cost saving That’s the national negotiation done Get to it Or as Arnie would say.. #gbdoc

INFORMATION: If you have #T1Diabetes And are on a stand-alone #InsulinPump along with any #CGM as part of your care funded by the #NHS? You can be upgraded (if you so wish) to a #ClosedLoop system - pretty much ASAP As it's cost neutral/cost saving to local system. #gbdoc

@nerdabetic @IrfanIsmail89 Great diagram of CGM & pump connectivity. However Libre 3 works with CamAPS and is not shown.

Medtronic pumps will work with a Libre-based CGM- news I never saw coming! Most surprising line in my AID map by far. My thoughts and observations:
