TBH I wish F1 would do this, in qualifying you need free space. I have always said. Indy had it right when at the Indy 500 every car got 3 laps to qualify SOLO on the track by themselves. The same should be done at other F1 tracks but at the Nordschliffe its the only way to enforce the rules as the track is so long. Every F1 race qualifying should be warm up lap, hot lap cool down lap. That's it 3 laps to set your best time. SOLO just you on the track, you set a poor time, no excuses. No do overs. You could have 1 qualifying session, instead of 3 this would streamline the process exponentially. Make it the same length as qualifying like the old days. 1 day to qualify. one run, that's it. its only 22 cars, 3 laps is about 3 mins on each big track, you could adjust it for Monaco, and the redbull ring which are about a minute a lap. so like you get 5 mins to qualify, 3 laps. That's it. Instead of the parking lot tracks have become lately.

@PolePositionist Earliest PU update will be Race 12/13. They just need to hold on, until then. The best scenario for Ferrari would actually be McL surpassing Merc over the coming races. Worst case McL become 2nd forces and lowering the points Ferrari can secure before an updated PU.

I think it’s very clear that if Ferrari actually, properly, wants to challenge for wins and podiums consistently they need a better PU. They think they’ll get an upgrade opportunity (ADUO), and they badly need it. The less we say about the PU regs, the better.
