I’m not sure normal fans ever take notice of xg. It’s for losing managers and pundits who want to look clever. It is a pointless metric. And Neuer was Man of the Match because he was outstanding in the first leg compared to poor in the second leg.

@kevinhatchard I respectfully disagree Who decides whether it is a goal scoring opportunity? Do they factor in who the player is? Do they factor in who the goalkeeper is? Do they factor in whether the ball is on his favoured foot? Who exactly decides the probability? Have they played?
