I’m lucky enough to commentate on both leagues so I delve deeper into stats than this chap. A quick fact check on the two leaders tells you that 31 players have played for Arsenal this season. 29 have played for Barca. The leagues are very comparable.

@robbopalmer @david_reed When u look at the "Most Players Used" chart, u can see that top English clubs are consistently forced to dip deeper into their squads compared to their Spanish counterparts. By using only @Arsenal & @FCBarcelona , ur overlooking how much the rest of the lgue varies from that ave

Dipped in here to see this has gained a bit of traction…Always good to push the conversation forward. As you can probably tell, this has been clipped at the start and isn’t the full segment. In the first part, I tried to explain the obvious, PSG are better than Chelsea, Madrid are better than Man City etc. There should be no hysteria at English clubs losing at this stage of the competition. Then the factors that contribute to that including variance in the ties. Does the relentless nature of the PL contribute to European performance at this stage of the season? Asking the question, rather than providing answers.

@robbopalmer Tbf though Barca and Real can cruise through 60% of their league games , not an option in the premier league . In the last few seasons only city have qualified every time for CL. Real and Barca don’t even get challenged. Premier league much tougher
