Funnily enough, been there many times. You can’t get into the TG without permission. Once arrived early & asked to come back later. As a golfer, I thought I’d take in Rockliffe GC next door but you can only go in via a private road… or trespass.

@robbopalmer Way over the top. Have you seen their training ground. No security whatsoever and next to a public footpath. A fine is enough for Southampton and Boro should concentrate on why their manager only got 2 wins from the last 13.

@robbopalmer Thank you for your kind words Rob. We must point out that this is a joint statement on behalf of supporters’ groups and much credit should go to Richard Gardham of Hull City Southern Supporters who initiated this statement.

@robbopalmer Fair statement ?? Spitting there dummy out and not trusting the process. I question Middlesbrough integrity considering we haven't been found guilty of spygate yet ?

@Al_TranmereFan Some clubs are obsessed by it. One PL manager and his asst used to hide in an exec box when Champions League opponents were allowed to train on the pitch. Teams would kill to know Arsenal set piece routines ahead of time.

@robbopalmer Valid points indeed. However, I'm not too sure how much information you'd actually gather from behind a tree with just a mobile phone. The intent is still there, but I think the potential punishment (missing out on the PL) outweighs the crime. Anyway, I'm sticking with League 2.

@robbopalmer How does this work for Hull City, who neither cheated nor lost a match?

@Al_TranmereFan That’s an easy one. Filming training. You learn if a player misses training, picks up an injury, likely formation, set-pieces, what they do from goal-kicks. And you plan to break a rule rather doing something instinctively.

@robbopalmer Which is worse? A club filming training, a player cons the ref by diving or a player handballs to stop a goal (no VAR so players can get away with it). Clubs can send scouts to watch teams they are due to play; surely you get as much info from that than a training session.

@paynard78 @dgboro I think the term you’re looking for is victim’s statement. Surely Boro should have a say. Although I’d much rather Hull go straight through. 🐯

@dgboro @robbopalmer It’s not your hearing. It’s the EFL vs Southampton. You have made a complaint to the EFL, let the hearing play out. You can’t play judge and jury.

Southampton captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis appeared to mock a Middlesbrough player with a binoculars celebration amid allegations that Saints were spying on Boro training before their play-off clash 😬

@nookmell @EFL They charged them on 6/5 We don’t know if other clubs have come forward since then. If so, it is a more serious matter and potentially bigger punishment. But if innocent. The game goes ahead. The EFL clearly want an early resolution but it appears Soton are not rushing.

@robbopalmer @EFL tbh Rob, they knew after the first leg & have done nothing until they knew the 2 teams in the final. they are now causing more harm then good here. whats to stop every club in the Championship coming forward with a Soton spy charge. A 21 game unbeaten run? here's your reason why!

@nookmell @grassrootsrefJa @EFL I think you need to read the statement and translate the legalese. Charged on 8th May. Has to go to Independent Disciplinary Commission. Soton obviously taking the full 14 days. The EFL will be more hacked off than anyone. Fans, clubs, sponsors, TV, Wembley to sort out.

@grassrootsrefJa @robbopalmer @EFL acted sooner. locked in 23rd May & a kick off time, regardless of their inquiry. this means the team that have qualified for the final can plan. they had time to get the ind panel together. this is what i expect them to do. take action to minimise disruption. but they have not
