We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Nottingham Forest legend and dear friend, John Robertson.
A true great of our Club and a double European Cup winner, John’s unrivalled talent, humility and unwavering devotion to Nottingham Forest will never ever be forgotten.
Our thoughts are with John’s family, friends and all who loved him.
Rest in peace, Robbo… Our greatest.

Brutal. But correct, if overdue.
No PL team has sacked two managers and stayed up, but no team has sacked two before Halloween.
EM has got to get a grip on this - poor decisions have derailed us but plenty of time to sort things out

Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect. The Club will make no further comment at this time.
English

@henrywinter I’ve heard people say “he doesn’t play the media game”
But what does the media want? Headlines, silly soundbites, content to write about
What does he keep giving them?
And annoying how much he talks about himself and not the team. Far cry from the all-in-together of Coops/Nuno
English

Another headline-grabbing press conference from Ange Postecoglou. Probably cathartic for him, made some points about weeds and trophy deeds, and doubtless felt better for it. But will it convince Nottingham Forest fans? Many of them critical and wish he’d focus more on Forest’s defending than on defending himself.
You want new managers to get a bit of time, especially those arriving without a pre-season or a transfer window, but Postecoglou isn’t an upgrade on Nuno, who was popular with supporters and players.
Forest have good players, some starring for their countries, good pros, two in the PFA Team of the Year, some coveted by Champions League clubs. Marinakis has done a lot of good at Forest, including investing in players. It’s not the strongest squad but there’s a strong starting XI there currently underperforming and struggling to absorb Postecoglou’s ideas (so different in tactics and tone to Nuno).
And will players who’ll have listened to Postecoglou’s explanations/excuses be inspired or sceptical? That’s really all that matters. Who cares about his story about weeds? People want to hear about green shoots of recovery in the Forest world, his belief in the players. “Some look at the weeds but I look at what is growing,” is a good start. “I am really excited as I have a group of young players willing to change.” In what way? Anderson, Milenkovic, Gibbs-White and others were doing well before he came. And does he mean “change” to a system that doesn’t suit squad strengths?
Rather than talking about himself for parts of the press conference, why not spend the whole session singing the praises of his players, his delight in seeing them doing well internationally, his joy and privilege to work with such talents. Be more positive. Talk up. Not down.
Do the players believe in Postecoglou? Many liked, respected and were improved by Nuno. And so to a huge game with Chelsea today. Players owe it to themselves, a great support and to the club that pays them well to produce against Chelsea at lunchtime, they’re professionals, but there will be inevitable focus on how hard they fight for a manager under pressure. Postecoglou needs points not self-justifying points in a press conference. #NFOCHE #NFFC #CFC

@mat1204 @Stevie_FPL1 @ImJamieMartin Only way we could have avoided UEL issue is by re-signing Cash as backup RB and Darlow instead of Gunn
I think PL squads are submitted today. Presumably Jota and Awoniyi will be cut, not sure who the third will be. Maybe loan out Cuiabano?
English

Big squad for Forest, this.
Still some windows open, so interesting to see wether Jota Silva stays - likelihood is not. Still potentially some movement for Awoniyi too.
The quality there, top notch 👌

@mat1204 @Stevie_FPL1 @ImJamieMartin Hutchinson is too old - DOB cut off is 1st Jan 2004. So we're 3 over atm.
And for Europa, Cunha doesn't count towards the U21 "B" list as not club trained. So got to cut 7 players!
English

@Stevie_FPL1 @ImJamieMartin For Europe I think it’s only 22 as 4 are home grown at club and we only have Yates.
The under 21 players don’t count either, so Jair Cunha, Abbott and Hutchinson are ‘free’.
I’m not positive on this, so happy for someone to tell me I’m completely wrong!
English

@CallumCastel7 The club needs to have some outgoings though. Cuiabano, Zinchenko and Bakwa takes us to 28 senior players so they’ve got to cull 3 players for PL squad (and more for EL). Nuno will enjoy those conversations! 😬

@TheCricketerMag @GeorgeDobell1 @melindafarrell Silly dismissals always get the headlines, but 64 extras and a lot of dropped catches is really sloppy. Rusty bowlers a big factor in the extras, but what's causing all the drops? #AskGeorge

Alrighty then, let's have your questions for @GeorgeDobell1 & @melindafarrell 💬

@TheCricketerMag @GeorgeDobell1 @melindafarrell With only a 3 day break, how many changes will (or should) England make? And what if India draw and keep the series alive?
Wouldn’t want to flog Archer, Carse and Stokes into the ground

@TheCricketerMag @GeorgeDobell1 @melindafarrell Records and milestones galore for Root and Stokes, but if Woakes can make it to 200, that’ll be the one that makes George happiest won’t it? 9 to go… #AskGeorge
English

@TheCricketerMag @GeorgeDobell1 How much was last night’s hilarity responsible for India’s fired up bowling performance? #AskGeorge
English

@GeorgeDobell1 @melindafarrell Whatever you may say about the opposition, we wanted to see England batters be ruthless and not leave runs out there - and they did that didn't they? #AskGeorge

@nottmtails Didn't Dean Henderson get a call up whilst on loan with us? But MGW certainly first Forest-owned player since Pearce.
English

Morgan Gibbs-White gets his first England call-up... a big step forward for the #NFFC midfielder... the first Nottingham Forest player to get an England call-up since Stuart Pearce in 1997.
Has been a pleasure to watch him evolve since he joined from Wolves in August 2022.
