That’s a squad where the attacking options have been rightly built to get the most out of Kane. Strong starting XI, but not huge depth at the back or in midfield. Would’ve taken another no.10 over Toney, and we might regret not picking Wharton/Scott if Anderson gets injured.

@danpatriley I imagine it’s deliberately like for like to play to Kane’s strengths. Makes sense to me, but it’s a big risk if he gets crocked! Which is why I’d have had Palmer or Foden ahead of Toney, as they naturally suit Watkins.

@dan_brigham Back ups feel very like for like. Not enough variation/x factor imo. Also feels like a few pen takers left out and I truly believe it should be a huge consideration.

@oro7777777 Direct wide players and no.10s who can get in behind. Perfect for Kane, and I guess why Palmer and Foden miss out (plus their lack of form).

@dan_brigham I see the game plan, he wants to plays with intensity, the performance v Serbia is the blueprint. However my worry is the heat, it would be great to have Wharton to slow the pace down a bit if necessary. I’d also take palmer over a 3rd ST, and probably Trent over 5th CB

Do people actually enjoy having the World Cup squad leaked? Same with player signings. Isn’t it more fun to find out when they’re officially announced?

@MondayMusicUK I just read that apparently they were planning for three scenarios: Premier League, Championship, and League One. So they must have thought relegation was on the cards

@dan_brigham Genuinely think if they investigated fully and it had happened throughout the season we'd be looking at automatic relegation because it throws the whole table into disrepute. They'd need to go

Is a 4-point deduction enough for Southampton? Found guilty of spying on multiple clubs. Therefore trying to enhance their own performance through systematic cheating to the detriment of the rest of the teams in the league. Only minus 4 points for that?

@oro7777777 Yeh, I guess it’s on other clubs to prove it. I imagine a few are paying even closer attention to cctv from the time now.

@dan_brigham Agree should be a lot more. If it’s only the 2 games then 2ppg might be appropriate, but I find that hard to believe it’s only those 2

@beneast74 Yeh, that’s true. Sounds like quite a lot of clubs had their suspicions but didn’t have the evidence/didn’t want to get involved.

@dan_brigham It kind of feels like it's 2 points per spying admission in the regular season. But yes, if they found evidence of, say, 8 more clubs then it could and should be 20 points.
