I also say this with no ill will or animosity: I think too many people complicit in how Democrats got here are still trying to dictate where Democrats should go.
There are A LOT of people who hate the Democratic Party right now. Some of them are committed Democrats like myself who want a party that’s less insular, ideologically inflexible, and myopic. Some of them are Democratic Socialists who have a specific ideological aim. Some are somewhere in the middle. Some don’t think about politics this much (I’m jealous of them).
Regardless of where you might find yourself, the answer cannot be for those of us on the broad left of center spectrum to cast out people with whom we have differences of opinion that span degrees and not chasms. Our system does not allow for us to treat these differences as impediments to working together toward common goals.
And if you are the vanguard of the Democratic Party of the last generation—especially if you’ve held a prominent leadership position—perhaps consider listening to the cross-ideological chorus screaming that it’s time for Democrats to be different instead of casting about over the ashes of what used to be.

As a liberal progressive, I would be fine with the party moving left if these wins were about Medicare for all, reproductive rights, universal childcare, taxing billionaires, and creating affordable housing, But they weren’t.

And let me be clear: I don’t care if you’re progressive, moderate, or conservative.
I’ve worked with Democrats across the ideological spectrum. We didn’t always agree, but we understood that building a stronger Democratic Party was part of the job.
If you hate the party, spend your days attacking it, and have contempt for all the people who make it possible, then see above.

Landen Roupp wrote a verse on his hat that means he's anti something. That doesn't mean that. It means that he's pro something. So the rainbow means something to him. FWIW I’ve been to Yankees pride night which involves buying a more expensive ticket so you can go pick up a hat. Otherwise at the game you’d have absolutely no idea it was a pride night
