I showed the bar code of my M&S bag to the auto till. I loaded my shopping into it. I was asked how many bags I had. I tapped ‘none’ because I didn’t want to pay for the bag twice. Supervisor says I should have pressed ‘one’ bag. Big stand-off at the M&S auto till…

@simonapcliff @MichaelRosenYes That’s absolutely right, and I wouldn’t shop in a self-checkout only store I refuse to use them, I will ALWAYS queue at a till with a member of staff, or ask a supervisor to open a till This hopefully is my small contribution to keeping people in work

@MichaelRosenYes @johnclift2 Exactly right Micheal, John obviously doesn't shop at M&S as most smaller M&S food only outlets are self-checkout only. No staffed tills, more work for the customer, fewer jobs, cutting costs means bigger bonuses for the C.E.O. not lower prices.
