The leading scorer is supposed to. cc taking the high road and unnecessarily blaming herself for the loss was also a high character thing to do. They seem happy to let her do it.

@cc22report Anyone thinking she would be traded is a moron and I get why they don’t do a statement. Letting CC take all the blame isn’t the answer tho, Steph needs to step up and say, look a lot of this is on me, I need to be a better coach. They appear to be hanging her out to dry.

I am going to tread lightly with this post because it is in regards to something Caitlin very specifically and very explicitly shut down recently and asked us not to do anymore But some of y'all need to learn the difference between rumor and reported fact regarding this LA trade rumor There is not one single sports organization on the planet that would comment about a trade rumor, no matter how ridiculous - and there is nary a single reporter that would ask Especially about such a rumor as easily traceable as this one - where Klay Thompson's dad posted something on Twitter and then the odious Jason Whitlock picked it up and then some AI article was pumped out about it The very definition of what Caitlin was saying when she said "people don't know what they are talking about" Now this has metastasized into something totally ridiculous yet accepted as canon "But the Fever immediately shot down the rumor about Steph White being fired, they're not shooting this down, that means that either it's valid or they are siding with Steph over Caitlin" I hear you say First off both Caitlin and Steph have said they are on the same side multiple times now Second it is completely false that they immediately shot down Steph White being fired rumors, those have been happening literally for years now It was only when a semi credible journalist reported that SW HAD ACTUALLY BEEN FIRED that the Fever spoke I guarantee you if Skip Bayless (or whoever) reported that Caitlin actually had been traded and there was no truth to it the Fever would shut that down equally quickly That is just a fact Does this mean Caitlin won't be traded? I have no idea and neither do you. If she is then and only then will I deal with it Until then I will do what Caitlin asked all of us to do and stop the useless and baseless speculation about something I know nothing about

@mofaya_ I get it - but this situation is just inexplicable - front office out there using media to smear her, obvious frustration, blowups w the coaches, and a narrative that appears to be setting up a justification so they don’t look as bad if they trade her. 🤷‍♂️

What you guys don't seem to understand is that Caitlin Clark cannot be traded. She'd have to walk for free. What you'd need to give up to land her in the end will be so much that you eventually lose the trade from a sporting success POV.

@levelupsporting @Sudharsan_ak You have no idea how much heat she takes behind closed doors. White & most of this roster are so out of synch & clearly don't know how to play together. CC is the only one on the team who can pass the ball, & this team misses more easy layups (KM) than I've ever seen pros miss!!

Caitlin fans, do yourself a favor and quit blaming individuals. I know good guys vs bad guys drives attention/clicks. But the NBA/WNBA does NOT want Caitlin Clark in Indianapolis/flyover country. Every decision/action/refs makes sense when you accept that.

@cckent22 The last two games have backed up what their “team mtg” was about - to set Clark straight that she’s not the leader and this is km team. It’s not going to change. Something’s got to give.

It is up to Stephanie White to rein Kelsey Mitchell in. That was really, really bad. Scoring 20 means NOTHING.

@SportsPatriotUS Works both ways. Fever got a favorable whistle during their “magical” narrative justifying run last year as well. You are spot on - bad officiating is a cover used to enforce an agenda.

Let’s stop pretending the WNBA has an officiating “problem.” A problem implies the officials are failing. Last night looked like they were doing exactly what they were sent there to do. What we witnessed was not a few bad calls. It was a blatant, successful manipulation of game flow... and it worked. The officials did not take over early. That would have been too obvious. They waited. Indiana had control. New York could not shoot. The Liberty finished 2-for-18 from three, while the Fever made more field goals, shot a better percentage, and dominated from deep. Then, when New York needed saving, the whistle arrived. New York shot 40 free throws. Indiana shot 15. Breanna Stewart alone shot 21, more than the entire Fever team... and somehow the whistle kept putting the ball in the hands of New York’s best high-volume free-throw shooter when the game needed to be tilted. At the same time, Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston were forced to play through foul trouble, which completely changes how aggressive Indiana can be defensively. That is how you manipulate a game in real time without making it obvious to the untrained eye. You do not have to control every possession. You only have to control the critical ones. Basketball people knew what was happening. And the box score does not lie. This was not normal. This was not right. This was not okay. And anyone who cares about the integrity of the game should be asking hard questions about why the Fever won so many normal basketball categories and still lost because the whistle became New York’s offense. At some point, it stops looking like incompetence. It starts looking coordinated. And last night only added more fuel to the belief that the league is willing to sabotage the Caitlin Clark effect before it ever admits how badly it needs her.

@josh_tynes Kelsey Mitchell is to the fever what Julius Randle was to the Knicks. Could not coexist with Brunson enough to get to next level for same reasons. So they moved him and went all in on Brunson. Where are they now? As a Knick fan - that’s what I see when I watch km.

I don’t care. Kelsey Mitchell makes too many crucial errors for this team. She literally only scores and turns the ball over. If she gets an assist or rebound it’s hard to believe. 0 awareness.
