@jasonc_nc I take "vehicle needs" to mean "regular maintenance," so it's funny to hear someone use the term to mean "the entirety of the urban built environment."

I’m happy to report that American manufacturers sell truck chassis that are perfectly capable of all the tasks below with a wheelbase and turning radius that allows for narrower lanes, intersection bump outs and other street improvements in our cities. We just have to wean American fire departments off of their unhealthy addiction to unreliable, less-safe, oversized custom chassis from defense contractor subsidiaries. In return we get fewer injuries and deaths, they get fewer calls to accidents and we all save a lot of pain and expense.

@fortworthchris @AustinTunnell Respectfully, this approach is dumb and has no merit. It's not just firetrucks- it's utility trucks, moving vans, car haulers, and big rigs who service homes. They will shrink in time. But ignoring those vehicle needs is retarded

@soclose2me Meanwhile, CSG-10 continues its long voyage to the Gulf of Oman, and dozens of C-17s continue to ferry ordnance to the war theater. We are being sold yet another deception. Gentlemen cry peace, peace, but there is no peace. Unrestrained war will resume by the end of the month.

There is a statistical delta opening up in the Persian Gulf. A Bermuda Δ where oil present and futures diverge, where public opinion and markets do not merge, where global prices do not converge, and where—as Gramsci said—“a great variety of morbid symptoms [emerge]”.

Who would AOC's running mate be? If she picked someone with leftist cred like Kshama Sawant or Jill Stein that might help her with the tanky vote. But someone like Rahm Emanuel could help in swing states.

Why does the Palestine Lobby feel free to appropriate our culture like this????
Rabbi Poupko tweet media
Aber Kawas@AberKawas

Passover is a call to stand against oppression, and a time to come together to retell a story of collective liberation. I was grateful to join a community Seder with Table of Nations in Elmhurst, who beautifully embody the Passover appeal to “let all who are hungry come and eat.” Joining my Jewish brothers and sisters @JFREJNYC for their Seder in the Streets, we marched to say ENOUGH to Palantir’s deadly collusion with ICE and the detention and deportation of our immigrant neighbors. And as Israel escalates their attacks on the people of Lebanon, I rallied alongside @jvpliveNY at their Seder to Break the Bonds, demanding NYC divest from municipal bonds that fund Israeli war crimes.

The answer to why the Palestine lobby feels free to appropriate Jewish tradition is: 1) Antizionist Jews invite them to appropriate (hint, the orange on the Seder plate). 2) Insidious religious supersessionism operates in a system devoid of respect for the Jewish tradition by its usurpation.

The thing that made me so antizionist was actually going to Israel and talking to Israelis lmao
Brianna Wu@BriannaWu

I’m so glad I actually went to Israel. Because when you go there, you can see how every part of these leftist talking points are wrong. First, Israel does not want to “expand its borders.” There’s barely anything in northern Israel, and the IDF doesn’t need more territory to control. What they do want is to disrupt line of sight. It’s remarkable to stand on a mountain ridge and see Jordan, Gush Etzion and Tel Aviv with your naked eye. Imagine what someone could do with a rocket or sniper rifle standing on the mountain ridges of Syria. Secondly, Israel did not want to “destroy Gaza.” They did need to disrupt the tunnel system (paid for with US aid money) that Hamas had designed to hide in. The reason for this is Hamas told the world repeatedly they’d repeat October 7th. Thirdly, the thing Israelis want more than anything is to be left alone. It’s underappreciated here in America, but Israelis are tired of running to bomb shelters in the middle of the night. I had a conversation with a friend whose father lives in northern Israel last week. They decided as a family it was safer for him to stay in bed and risk being killed by a rocket than continue going down the stairs in the risk he could break his hip. Can you imagine having that conversation with your father? There is such a profound lack of understanding of the Israeli perspective in Democratic circles. Part of it is the fact that Israel is remarkably bad at putting out their point of view to the public, but the larger reality is the left inclined to believe the worst of Jews for some reason.

During the first few weeks of this conflict, we had people confidently asserting that the free hand of the market would guide shipping companies to send tankers through the strait even if every other one was getting hit with a cruise missile. Now here's the Telegraph saying ships won't pass the strait even in peaceful conditions because the Iranian approved corridor is kind of narrow
