This week, Chile announced a proposed new constitution written by a democratically elected convention, and it is likely the most legitimate constitution in the world, as it is written boldly in the context of the climate crisis. A 🧵on its inspiring climate provisions.

"Planting trees of sanctuary will mark the journeys travelled by plants and people, and how both put down roots in their new homes, bearing fruit, bringing beauty and becoming welcome and familiar members of our ecologies." ~ artist Henna Asikainen #PlantaSeed #SimpleActs

As we've said repeatedly, the Church of England’s opposition to deporting asylum seekers without any kind of assessment or care is not because the destination is Rwanda. We would oppose such heartless treatment wherever people were sent. 1/3 🧵

Many are asking for my view of today's NI Protocol Bill. It may be unfashionable, but I would like first to read both the Bill & the planned statement on the legal position; & to hear @trussliz statement this afternoon. The Govt is right to act but must get the detail right.

@IanLaveryMP @turley45 Another. The smoke rising in the background is somebody's home, the police laughed and made the owner watch it burn. Thatcher waged war on any community she saw as a threat to capitalist greed, proclaiming "people should be free to choose, so long as they make the right choice".

@hallamwheatley @SimonClarkeMP Freedom of movement for over 450 million EU citizens has ended, meaning the UK Govt can control immigration. cheap imported foreign labour holds down wages, and is a drain on public services and housing etc.

Queen Elizabeth II had two severely disabled first cousins who were publicly pronounced dead in 1940 and 1961 respectively However, they were actually hidden in a care home for mentally disabled people without any visits or support from the royal family until their deaths
