We recently started trialling some changes to carry with a couple of groups — specifically, reducing the maximum carry that a lead can charge unless they are buying a large part of the allocation themselves. To access high carry, a lead must buy a higher % of the allocation. This means for much larger allocation sizes the carry is likely to be much smaller on average, particularly for rounds intended to maximise community participation. We will continue to monitor and make changes while we figure out a sweet spot, probably lots of changes to come. Cheers!

@misinterpreth @slam__punk The Echonomist is more for raises that wouldn’t exist without the platform — true for every round so far. Personal group is just whatever I invest in, allocs much smaller.

@echodotxyz @slam__punk Maybe leave the top 5% to Echonomist (more VC-like investing) and other/opportunistic stuff to the personal group?

@slam__punk I guess, more simply: If you are in my group, do you want to be able to follow EVERY investment I make, or only the ones I think are the best?

I have turned down probably 95% of the requests to do a sale in my group, likely >$100m of supply-side. Still not sure how to approach this stuff (more opportunities but more outcome variance vs. less opportunities and more curated).
