A little late posting this, but it was a great session organized by the team at @fhenix. They not only explained what they're building and improving, but also guided us through hands-on implementation on our own laptops, which made understanding the concepts much easier.

One frustrated developer built a tool in 10 days.
Today every serious software company depends on it.
> The tool was Git .
> Back in 2005 Linux developers were struggling with version control systems.
> Most tools were slow expensive or painful to use. Linus Torvalds got tired of it so instead of complaining longer he built his own.
// The crazy part?
> Git was never meant to become a billion user product, It was just built to solve a developer pain point inside Linux development.
Linus focused on 3 things:
→ speed
→ reliability
→ developer control
> Then developers realized Git solved problems better than existing tools. Slowly it became the default workflow for software teams.
> Then platforms like @github exploded and Git became the backbone of:
→ open source
→ startups
→ FAANG companies
→ indie hackers
→ basically modern software
> Today almost every developer learns Git before getting a real tech job.
> GitHub was acquired by Microsoft for $7.5B.
> But Git itself stayed free and open source.
