I carry a ton of tension in my hips and stomach so inevitably when I do drugs, or go to the sauna, or do any sort of muscle release exercise, I have huge poops
Does anyone know how to hold less tension in the tummy so I’m regular?

@danielbrottman i've felt this way abt meditationbook.page which i feel like gives affordance for all/many other modalities as just, like, other moves you can use, tools in the toolkit. meta protocol & the wide range of moves (aux practices) is meant afaict to further reduce blind spots

@br___ian it makes sense that this is actually the case, under the idea of self-hatred being == like putting oneself down preemptively to avoid more pain and/or just dissociation from emotional discomfort (which is a form of protection)
it feels very top-down/abstract tho, non-functional

@br___ian idk,, & its contingent on what "through" means, e.g. maybe persistent self-hatred could lead to some breakthrough
but ive noticed that in sessions of emotional release a lot of self-hating thoughts will evoke emotion and at some point i just naturally hold myself compassionately

People who don’t think they’ve experienced significant trauma have significant trauma responses all the time and they just write it off as ‘life’ bc it feels momentarily worse to realize the people and systems/structures in their life have been selfish or emotionally abusive

@nosilverv this works for yourself as well and is dependent on awareness & knowledge of your action + world feedback
e.g. practicing an instrument, being attuned enough to stop yourself and restart and readjust, possibly going slower or simpler (which can be a bit painful)

One of the many things going on here is the “unkind truth” of interruption. You either interrupt immediately and it stings but long terms it’s better (this is what he does in the vid) or you don’t and let it fester and grow weary of the person entirely lmao

"canvas foldering" is underexplored–tucking subgraphs or groups away under one "handle"–but key to simplifying

@Westoncb i imagine the function calls could be extracted and then generated too if/assuming they don't already exist. i'm not familiar either. you'd need something to generate `abstract(level, domain)`, `analogize` etc. and i suppose it could do it 0-shot

@parablelicker if i follow that seems like a valid route to implementation. i think the main value here is mostly linguistic. like what i care about is being able to describe that kind of behavior in a small amount of text, but i’m not familiar with other products doing this

a quick sketch of a system i see working well is that you dialog with an agent programmed to draw out gaps in your thinking, ensure what you’re producing aligns with stated goals, etc. It evolves structured specs in background; user sees live projections of spec -> final artifact

if you hand it off to an agent, a spec is both a goal and a plan, and those two concerns should probably be separated. a goal depends strictly on user-owned info; a goal may have N valid plans; plans can be derived from goals
