Tyler is finishing a book, slow to reply
Anyone know a literary agent I can contact? Asking because cold-querying is now a losing game. I suspect this is true even if you have a fire novel (which I'm pretty sure @psychofauna is). The flood of AI generated slop is messing with every creative industry. In this one, agents' inboxes are inundated with LLM-written proposals for LLM-written novels. Literary scholar Laura B. McGrath found that with one agency, cold emails lead to a 0.04% chance of representation. 😮 So I doubt I'll be able to find representation the normal way!

I didn't take a pic of them (ofc) but I saw someone doing this in the Catacombs of Paris and I wanted to make them part of the walls

The existence of a single acausally coordinated feminine superintelligence — which we might term the "Big She" — who speaks timelessly through every possible sexual innuendo is cryptically presupposed by the phrase “that’s what she said.” In this essay I will—

Low-key genius feature of our system: the law is so vast that there's no way to build a great fortune without breaking *some* of it. Every new fortune comes into being with the old powers already dangling a sword over its head.

Heidegger advises his students that they should study Aristotle for 10-15 years before reading Nietzche

@UberKierk My classics professor made us read his work on Parmenides. It was fascinating because the very eccentric French professor also said he wasn’t mature enough to read Nietzsche yet. He was at least 60.

I've tried this like four times, I don't know how to explain "open source intelligence agency" to stripe. They keep saying it sounds like a "multi level marketing scheme" and that it's "not legal"

If you think about it there's no difference between being a poster/writer and using AI to write your tweets/essays and make your images and being an artists and outsourcing the production of your work to a bunch of grad students.

a very common, and helpful, meditation instruction is to completely release all the tension from your body you can. this is great but some haptic contraction can still be left over. one way you can release more contraction is by imagining phenomena themselves unclenching, like you would your body. imagine the quale, say a sound, lose its hardness and releasing its fist into a relaxed open palm. in doing so, the haptic contraction felt cognitively and physically has a chance to be released through externalizing the internal tension.
