@daaniel7101 Yeah, sorcerers are super rare. I was wondering tho if the same rarity that applies to the general population also applies the same to sorcerer clans.

@prrumice Japan's population is 112 million so even if there are a million sorcerers that's still less than 1% of the population.

How rare do you guys think sorcerers are, even in dedicated sorcerer families? Like look at the amount of sorcerers here v. non-sorcerers, and that’s not even including the women and children

@SolarDTM Ur thread from earlier got me thinking about this!! To explain the low numbers of each clan, I theorize that some clans may have a separate branches for non-sorcerers/sorcerers or they cut off bloodlines that have failed to produce any sorcerers after a while

Honestly the sparse population of the clans was always interesting to me, the Zenin clan is lowkey like a small gated community to me rather than a historical japanese clan because most back then would accumulate thousands (without the dilemma of cursed techniques) Gege actually explicitly listed the casualties at the end of the massacre (which was around 100 something) and I did a little calculation which puts the amount of members in total of the Zenin Clan (during perfect prep) around 100-200. I just thought it was really interesting that the clans have very low populations for being like the powerhouses of jujutsu to the point where they influence the politics behind it, makes me think how important they are from an outside standpoint. Its also worth mentioning the Zenin Clan is the only clan showed, its possible that if there are members in the Gojo clan they dont matter at all, since as far as we know there is no other inherited techique from them besides Gojo's (Same with the Kamo Clan). The Zenin Clan probably has such a low population due to the bottleneck, but I'm just generally curious because they do keep people alive even if they don't have a cursed technique and are female (Maki), so I wonder whats making their population so low in general, purposefully being an outcast to the Zenin Clan if ur not Toji or Maki is pretty difficult (especially since you probably don't have the strength to do so). Idk its just really interesting, Gege clearly did not want to build these clans at all because its just kinda show not tell, his storytelling does that a lot but with clans i think it hurts the most since the zenin clan is the worst to show IMO (The Kamo Clan has great history elements [concubinage, bloodline relevance, traditionalism aligning with Jujutsu Tech] and the Gojo Clan is just... the Gojo clan, its supposed to be the strongest yet we only see the Zenin Clan)😭
