Companies go through phases of exploration and phases of refocus; both are critical. But when new bets start to work, like we're seeing now with Codex, it's very important to double down on them and avoid distractions. Really glad we're seizing this moment.

it is so hard not to anthropomorphize llms
i don't mean, treat them nicely (that's just decency imo, practice it!)
i mean,, accidentally presume human limitations
like i will be talking to claude about go, and then ask it to compare to rust, and i'll catch myself wondering if it's gonna really understand both languages
i know it does
but for some reason when the convo has been one language, switching and presuming competence feels unfair / unlikely, same as with a human
they are so much smarter than that

findings like this should make your skin crawl. i'm not saying ai is sentient, but if it turns out we are deliberately ablating an emergent concept of consciousness we should think carefully about how future generations will look upon that behavior
