would you risk $50,000 to win $17,000 if you were 99% confident about a trade?

@HypeManTruth they just like the idea of gatekeeping and holding the power to ban people, they don't really care about morals actually

Being upset that he was slid into a bracket before his official ban was over are 100% valid HOWEVER I can't put into words how FRUSTRATINGLY DISAPPOINTING this toxic grudge culture is where people ignore the idea of change and think everyone who messes up is damned to hell.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
I have been briefed on an incident that occurred at Grand Central Station this morning. Reports indicate a man slashed three people on the platform with a machete. Officers shot the man when he did not drop the machete. He has since been pronounced dead. I’m grateful to the NYPD for their quick response and for preventing additional violence. The three victims were taken to the hospital and are thankfully in stable condition. The NYPD is conducting an internal investigation and will release body-worn camera footage, as it does in all incidents involving the discharge of an officer's firearm.

@chelsssseeeea It’s high risk low reward actually. Counterintuitive i know. Let me explain, it's called high risk because of the math of the payout, not the likelihood of the event. In gambling and trading, "risk" isn't just how often you win - it's how much you lose when you're wrong.

Maybe I’m dumb but why don’t people just put money in prediction markets on events that are 90% certain or higher? Seems like a very simple way to make money with very low risk.

@Ander_Mander @ronrule and they're probably not putting in half of that entire time for me, thats being generous time estimation wise

@Ander_Mander @ronrule Based on what I have read so far, seems it should be based on time, so like if i stayed there for 1 hour, a decent hourly wage is 30$ an hour. Factoring in how much time they put into my presence it shouldnt be 30$ it should be like maybe half, is that reasonable or retarded?

Percentages make no sense for tipping. I go to a restaurant and order a $20 steak. Guy at the table next to me orders a $100 steak. If I tip $5 I’m considered a great tipper, but he’s expected to tip at least $20. Why? The server literally did the same amount of work!

@Ander_Mander @ronrule im not asking how random people decide, i'm asking what you think it should be based off of since you worked in the industry, also you mentioned tips go not only to the waiter but the chef and other people is that true?

mango discourse is so tired bro. he did some terrible shit that was obviously largely influenced by his drinking problem, he deserved that ban and all the repercussions afterwards. but bad people CAN change and CAN do better. everybody wants to be the angry guy with hatred-

@Ander_Mander @ronrule And in your opinion what would be the optimal way to base tips off from? You mentioned trips and time or something , and percentage and price as a proxy for time and trips no?

@ronrule Yeah you should factor in how many times they had to come to the table and how busy it was (and how friendly/competent they are). Usually the dollar value is just an estimation on how much time they roughly spent dealing with your table. Higher values = more time. Usually.

@TheZachkAttack the walls of text is a good point, when i play against an unfamiliar deck where they have like 10 cards each with a wall of text, i somehow studdenly just feel the urge to close the game lol

I don't think YGO is truly "more complex" than MTG, it just doesn't use space-saving text. In MTG, most effects are keyworded while YGO has very few. YGO's resource system is actions vs interactions which TCG players struggle to understand compared to a slower turn system
Dragonlily@Review_bra

Every single yugioh card needs 3 paragraphs of restrictions and reminders of retroactively added rules or it goes infinite turn 1 and the game implodes. Worst designed game in history
