@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli learn from the apostles /prophets etc ? Why do we need to learn from others when we have the scriptures and the Holy Spirit ?

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli So...if God wrote the Bible through human authors without error (which we agree on) and God chose which books should be part of the bible, through humans, why is it impossible to learn from those same inspired humans what the inspired books means?

If you can ask your mortal Pastors and friends to pray for you, why are you offended when Catholics asks the Saints in Heaven to pray for them? Does your Bible not tell you that anyone who dies in Christ lives? The Saints in Heaven are way more alive than your most powerful pastors combined on earth.

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli if their works never made into the bible then it was NEVER meant to be in the bible ....GOD is trustworthy and would have ensured his word is complete ....

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli The Book was written by God THROUGH men after Jesus's life on earth. There were MANY MANY MANY people walking around back then who were considered prophets & holy & inspired by God & their works never made into the Bible. Why? Who chose?

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli Like God would not ensure his word was complete for us? Did not the Protestants split from the Catholic church and all Christian churches have some different interpretations because they are RELIGIONS, man created religions

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Is it entirely impossible that the Apostles, Church Fathers, 1st cen Catholics, did not rely on the Holy Spirit when compiling the Bible to begin with? These are the people the Caths have learned the Bible from. There's 70K prot religions out there w/diff interpretations.

@MarkJGrice The TOTC was on deaths door, hanging on a cross. He was a very rare exception as there was nothing else he could do at that point.

So Jesus was lying in Mark's Gospel when he said he who believes and is baptized shall be saved?

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli You put the church before the word of God ....you add in saints/Mary instead of going to Jesus like he taught us. You twist the word of God to account for men's teachings and traditions. It truly boggles my mind. Jesus does not seem to be enough for your church ....

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Therein lies the crux of it. Jesus left us the Church, not a book. The Book was produced AFTER Jesus' life by the Church. Caths follow BOTH. Our greatest form of worship, the Holy Mass, is almost entirely from the Bible (OT & NT.) Why would we not look to the Church to teach us?

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli Now I can see why your church does that which is not taught in the bible, and in fact does things which God said NOT to do like have carved images. Like bowing down to statues, praying to them or bowing down to a man (pope) kissing his ring etc.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Every communication, be it to Mary, the Saints or Jesus asks for our prayers to be carried to God the Father. Again, why wld someone ever deny the gift of MORE prayers on our behalf be carried to the Father? We pray (speak to) all of our fellow Christians we only worship God.

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli The word said ...Abraham was justified by FAITH alone ...no need for baptism ...no need to have someone who was alive be baptized for him .....and even Abraham did not interfere with where the rich man landed ...it is a story with spiritual teaching for us ....

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli Jesus TAUGHT us how to pray ....Jesus taught us he is the ONLY mediator between us and God. I will take his word and the word of God over any man created church and traditions......

The Trinity is not the original Christian belief. The earliest faith confessed one God, the Father.

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli The scripture is a teaching .....Did Abraham intercede for the rich man ? Did he do the rich man's bidding ? or were we taught that once we are dead there is no one who can change the decisions we made in this LIFE here on earth ?

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli May I ask you a question? How do you explain the rich man, who Caths believe was in Purgatory, asking for Abraham's intercession with such compassion and concern for his brothers? Does this not prove there is a relationship beyond the grave?

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli so we can live our life as we want ....not get baptized, not rely fully on Jesus as we can have others praying for us once we have died and being baptized in place of us ?

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Ya, no one is suggesting a "new ritual." Caths don't "Baptize the dead" lol. What it is suggesting is that our relationship with humans does not END with physical, material death. The Baptized remains part of the fam. Living or dead.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli I DON'T know. As I've stated. No prayer is useless. Again we pray God has shown mercy. Why denounce ANY gift from God? God gave us so many tools in our arsenal against Satan. Why on wld we not accept them ALL? He has been so generous to us in this. We are one, big, happy family.

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli It is in Purgatory where we "walk off" all of our sins to purify us so we are worthy to stand in Gods presence. In Purgatory we NEED the help of fellow Christians praying for to help us to the Beatific Vision. God never promised us a cake walk.

@vogs_l @UcheMaryOkoli The one and ONLY way for our souls to be perfect is by the blood of Jesus, period. What is the use of asking for forgiveness for our sins while we are alive if we can just get them forgiven in purgatory and have people basically pray us into heaven ?

@traceitback @UcheMaryOkoli Our sins. HERE'S the Catholic rub...if we break the neighbors window...saying sorry isn't enough. We also must pay to fix it. If we renounce our sins on our deathbed, Purgatory is the pay back. Our souls must be perfect to enter Heaven. To Caths..."sorry" doesn't cut the mustard
