Both our rightwing and leftwing haters are too stupid and engorged with rage to make inferences based on data vs “vibes” so they come up takes like “they’re pandering to rightwing men” which makes no sense seeing as they have their own media ecosystem of posters and influencers and don’t listen to women. Also for guys who make a big show about how men and women are different, they seem to hold us to the male standard in practice. Confusing!
Ampelos the Beloved@femboytradwife

@captive_dreamer It’s for women. Moving women rightward is much more difficult than moving men, as shown by party affiliation. In that aspect they do an important service even if they are not really producing novel political/social ideas (it’s a show for women).

@TheMiddleborne Brutalism can be really cool but I worry about the longevity of these structures. We need to make a rust proof rebar the industry standard

Why do people write tweets like this? Where every sentence gets a new line. Sometimes a line might have two sentences. Like this one. But generally speaking, every sentence has a new line, making a tweet look like a long block of text that no one reads. Worse still, such tweets are often repetitive and winding, hammering on the same point over and over again. The writing is often very bad.

@nealjclark1 True but in moderation. Depriving a kid of the carefree bliss of their teen years just to teach them responsibility is shitty. No reason for a 15 year old to live like a browbeaten father of three

I don’t really believe this. I think the point of working as a kid is literally to make money and to get an education about broader humanity. It is healthy for children to experience the adult world in this way. Warts and all
Arlo@mrarlorabbit

@nealjclark1 The purpose of doing jobs like this when you anticipate going into something better is to make you grateful / stop complaining when you are faced with a challenge in your own ‘better’ job. Gap years jobs are also a status symbol.

@queenie4rmnola Do you have any comment on the combined 70 felonies committed by the Black Women of Power that ran this city for the first part of the decade & how that might contribute to NOLA being the second fastest shrinking metro area in the country?

Louisiana is the mass incarceration capital of the world. It’s not a coincidence, but rather reflects our state’s ties to slavery.

My favorite thing about the "Red Scare" podcast is that I can't think of a single thing they've injected into the cultural zeigeist that we're inhabiting. Just total passengers. They're exactly what Nikita Bier called "slop aggregators."
