Anyone building a political theology of specifically South Carolina has to account for both Jim Clyburne and Lindsey Graham and explain how they're both Calhounites lmfao.

Georgics II: There are the glades, the coverts of wild game; a youth patient of work and schooled to little; the rites of gods, and fathers held sacred. Justice, quitting the earth, set down her last footprints among these.

@SaguaroIsaac Lol you know I worked for a guy who was Charlie Wilson's axe man, and he had a portrait of Calhoun in his office and no one else.

Dude "boomer bands" are like Rush and and Electric Light Orchestra Paul McCartney was born in 1942 these are silent gen bands.
Pete Hutter@Pete_Hutter

@CSandbatch Don’t get upset with me. I’m not the one that caused you to love the ultimate boomer band. I consider you a victim, as we all are, of their wickedness.

Which is a statement of such honesty it was almost impossible to imagine it coming from a politician

I remember once when he was running for president he made this comment that probably destroyed an already impossible bid: "if you don't want more war don't vote for me"
ConfederalMonk@ConfederalMonk

@CSandbatch So are you saying that Graham is simply a jingo and would have been Jingoistic no matter who was in charge?

Just reached my desk that Lindsey Graham is in fact dead. And outside of the fact that South Carolina is proving once again that it can do things with dignity that Kentucky can't, I have to point out that whatever you think of him, Graham was a true senator in the long tradition of South Carolina contrarianism and war mongering. He was truly the heir of Calhoun and represented that chair as infuriatingly as anyone ever has.

Lol gen x and millennials are *very* fuckin different wew probably more different than gen x and boomers
Napoleon The Fiddler@FiddlerNapoleon

@CSandbatch Gen X/Millenials aren’t distinct enough to define post boomerism yet. Whatever the “next generation” after boomerism is is only just starting to emerge.

Now, the grateful dead--- probably a boomer band. They were an SF garage rock band and by 1965 Dylan and the Beatles were already at the pinnacle of the music world. The high age of boomer bands is actually the 70s.
