@CheerfulReader Chocolate ice cream, soda water blended. She got the recipe from Adventures in Odyssey. 😊 It hits!

Probably not a good sign but anytime anyone says "two weeks" my brain fills in "to flatten the curve."
First we stopped saying "fortnight." Now this.

Everyone stay in your homes to keep oil prices down. 2 weeks to open the strait

@flowidealism Someone told me in college I'd be great at sales. I balked. Eww, gross, never. I've spent my life establishing and developing classical Christian schools and realized I've been "selling" the cCe vision this entire time. It's not "just sales" when you believe it
English

Both K-12 education and higher academia actively look down on sales as a skill and a profession. It's considered sleazy and manipulative. The used car salesman stereotype. Nobody in a university wants to be associated with selling anything. It's beneath scholarly dignity.
But what is great sales actually? It's understanding other people. Building rapport. Communicating value. Creating relationships where both parties benefit. Steve Jobs was fundamentally a salesman. Most successful entrepreneurs are salespeople at their core. Despising sales while admiring entrepreneurship makes no sense at all.

@BiblicalBeauty Probably offers plastic shoe covers to house guests upon arrival.

@MrsCMFrancis @BiblicalBeauty But propriety seems to dictate that a thoughtful gift giver would just ask them and THEN they could make specific suggestions. Goal met by both parties!
English

@BiblicalBeauty Idk I think it’s a good idea. I never know what to get people I love a good directive.

@gmk_julie This is a true encouragement. I'm sorry to say I can't even recount all my children's birth stories when they ask. "When was I born? What were you doing when you went into labor with me? What's my name again?" So many things lost to time.
English

To the young mom, franticly journaling, picture taking, milestone recording, videoing every precious moment because you don't want to lose a single one.
And to the middle aged mom, riddled with guilt because you can hardly remember your kids' birthdays let alone all those sweet little memories you promised yourself you would never forget.
It all comes back.
Your body will slow down, decay, fall apart. All those extra pounds that menopause brought on will be the exact cushioning and excess you need for the falls and illnesses and wasting away that will inevitably come. You will be tired in the day and sleepless at night. And in those sleepless hours the memories will come back.
The first words, the favorite toys, the smell of shampooed baby hair, the funny way they said spaghetti, the outfit they wore on their first day of school, their best friend's name, all of it. The memories were never lost. God just keeps them all safe for us to use when we'll need and treasure them most.
So if your teenager is hounding you with questions about what they were like as a baby just tell them "I don't know right now. Ask me when I'm old."
"Therefore we do not lose heart, though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day." -2 Corinthians 4:16

@AliAmongFlowers But Anne Hathaway looks so great in bangs and so it follows that I, too, will look great in bangs and how hard can this be?
English

@BiblicalBeauty @mrsdobbins_ Requesting books is about as far as I'm comfortable with. If you're finicky, then bear that burden yourself. Most of your friends will know and those who don't will give something you can practice being grateful for.
We let battery operated toys be "consumables." :)
English

@mrsdobbins_ That’s thoughtful of you to want to give gifts that will be enjoyed, but if a parent is not being uptight and high maintenance, it really shouldn’t be difficult to choose gifts for little kids that will be appreciated.
English

@AMS_Perkins Mixed together or we talkin' about two different bottles?
English

@CliffVines Like I said, it seemed the responsible thing to do.
English

@CliffVines I mean, those clothes aren't coming clean at this point but it feels like the responsible move to ask anyway.
English

@wrightca At least for skin. Not making suggestions for clothes.
English

@CliffVines As a chronic off brander, I'm pretty committed to Dawn dish soap.
English

@wrightca Gojo was a good standby. In a pinch, Dawn liquid does pretty good.
English

@EvaLovesDesign My mother has this exact desk in her home office and it's even more beautiful in person.
English

@BeltFedRev I mean, I have a list of words I could use. Not all am I allowed to say in public, but I have the list.
English

Hirelings. The word he's looking for is hirelings.
