today was one for the books, and not in a good way the worst liquidation event in the history of crypto over $8B in liquidations in a 24H period, worse than the covid crash and FTX combined to everyone who got hit, i’m genuinely sorry entire portfolios nuked, friends wiped brutal day across the board some thoughts: > in the next few days we’ll likely hear about a few funds or desks blowing up, forced unwinds, cascading liquidations (think 3AC/FTX type) > BTC wicked from 120K to 100K to 113K on Hyperliquid, expect more volatility into the nov 1 tariff deadline > i don’t think this is the cycle top more like another transitory black swan, like covid or the tariff chaos, loud in the moment, a blip if you have a long term horizon > $HYPE’s resilience today was wild one of the few coins that didn’t implode, liquidity held up even during the chaos > if you’re buying dips, look for relative strength, not just discounts > if you’re trading with leverage, use stops no amount of “low leverage” could’ve saved you today some alts literally dropped 60–90% in seconds > this was historic, a reminder that no matter how bullish the meta feels, crypto is still the most volatile game on earth the goal is to stay alive survive first, thrive later
