The tension between CLIs and GUIs really comes down to composability. With CLIs, its far easier and efficient to automate, or drive from yet another higher orchestration harness. They are all getting pretty homogenous though, and what we really need is more innovation. There is some... but hungry for more.

This Copilot CLI beginner series is exactly the kind of friendly nudge developers have been waiting for. It got me reflecting on how my own terminal sessions could finally feel less like a chore and more like a superpower. Wondering what the first command most beginners end up loving right away.

@github the chat mode is legit. way faster than copy-pasting error messages into claude when something breaks. actually feels like talking to someone who understands the codebase

@github The terminal is a great place for agentic AI because the workflow is already action-oriented. Less “chat”, more execution.
