Big moves happening: $DUOL's chess pivot may be impacting core user growth, per D.A. Davidson. In-house data shows March momentum reversed strong Jan-Feb gains. Watch for a volume spike as the market digests this competitive shift. 💭

@AecInvests You’re right. Probably that’s true. I just see the technicals and I don’t like it when they move slowly and I like to invest the money elsewhere where the stock is showing more momentum

Planning to sell $DUOL shares once it gets to 115. It's very slow

Key take aways: Focus on the long term - both business and share price "golden rule" of using AI Mission over everything else Nice segment on Luis life growing up and what he wants to do/is doing for his home country Give it a read! #main-content" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">wired.com/story/the-big-…

@Chicky_Think Totally agree, consistent reiteration and minor added details to points still is massive. Just finished reading it, enjoyed the question sparking I thought were more details on the longer term outlook of the business and Luis main end goal of a billion users. Truly great mission

@EquityBrian Very different use cases, ones desire for learning will not disappear with a useful translation tool. Sure someone that doesn't have this desire would love this, but wanting to learn a language doesn't go away just because you can translate what someone else is saying.

@KULOLO808 @Cubsz2016 @alc2022 Having a program adapt to your skill level fluctuations is far superior from average textbook learnings or searching specific topics in my opinion.

@KULOLO808 @Cubsz2016 @alc2022 Again you have the ability/drive to learn without losing attention, that’s great! Same logic as you could open a textbook and read it front to back. But having lessons structured around your actual progress an reiterating prior learnings is poweful for the average person

@vladtiminski @adibmirza @alc2022 Who said anything about selling a company once it 10x. If the company continues executing at that point in time and still has room to grow, there is no need to ever sell it.

@AecInvests @adibmirza @alc2022 Yeah but also the people that are happy with a 10X in 10 years and taking profits / selling are not the people that are in for a 100 bagger run over the coming decades. Both are trillion dollar companies in the making and you do the math on the number of Xs

@KULOLO808 @Cubsz2016 @alc2022 Also, the AI argument totally get if they weren't also utilizing. U still have to market it and don't think someone is going to say I'm stopping Duolingo to go Poopolingo since on a very service level could look similar. formatting, but the underlying tech/data is very different.

@KULOLO808 @Cubsz2016 @alc2022 50m DAU and 100m+ MAU come out of thin air also with AI? It's common sense if you really think about it with this argument. You have to attract the customer, delight them with your product, and in turn create a habit they enjoy doing.

@vladtiminski @adibmirza @alc2022 Throwing around the range of 10-50x like that is not a needle in a haystack is crazy over a 10 year span. Anything close to a 10x max in 10 years is a fantastic return anyone would be more than happy with

@KULOLO808 @Cubsz2016 @alc2022 You have an attention span and ability to obtain information far greater than the average human it sounds like then, most people lose interest or focus very easily nowadays. Duolingo fixes this problem and keeps users engagement and wanting to come back

@WillBiddy_ @BrokenToysInv This is it, those who actually have the desire to learn are not going to choose not to for "live translation" that even so will not actually translate in real time based on different sentence structuring across languages. My view, not a good bear take

I think people will more than likely continue learning languages so they can use them themselves rather than just have instant translation. English is a huge asset to those from other countries trying to get a job or do business online. I think the real time translation could coexist with Duolingo and have a different customer base

$DUOL has ~85% market share in language learning applications. On google people search "Duolingo" approximately 19 times more often than "learn Spanish" Duolingo keeps users engaged using their 5 step approach to teaching: -Learn by doing -Learn in a personalized way -Focus on what matters -Stay motivated -Feel the delight They benefit from a large data moat: -With over a billion exercises completed every day on our platform, we believe we have built the world's largest collection of language-learning data. We leverage this data by developing novel AI models at the intersection of machine learning, natural language processing, and cognitive science, which enable personalized instruction and power new product features that drive both engagement and efficacy. They also implement a Robust Testing Framework: -The foundation of our product strategy is our relentless focus on improving learner engagement through A/B testing, and we run hundreds of A/B tests on new product features each quarter. Experiments can be as simple as changing the text or color of a button, or as complex as adding a major new feature like Video Call. The velocity of our A/B testing capabilities is a core competency that we believe allows us to optimize the Duolingo learning experience at a rapid pace and leads to compounding growth of core business metrics like DAUs and paid subscribers. I believe this company has an extremely bright future ahead of them with a combination of a monopolistic market position, data and scale driven moat, ai integration/personalization, and keeping users coming back to the platform to learn something every single day. I'm long $DUOL

@joecarlsonshow Honestly if a public company were to choose to do 6 months; I think that would help weed out a bad investment in the making. If you have nothing to hide or good results they will stick to the quarter cadence.

This is honestly just a terrible development. Part of the unique value of the public markets is liquidity. Making it so companies are required to update their investors less frequent means we are moving towards opaque, confusion, and lack of data. And there’s nothing “long term” about getting less frequent updates. One of the most long term focused companies ever is Costco, which releases KPIs *monthly*. Removing the quarterly reporting period will just give investors less data to work with and make it so insiders can sell out of a stock long before the public is aware of the problems.
