Perhaps, but the direction and behavior of the Republican Party in 2026 make this more difficult for Catholics to defend. We are dealing with people. Elections are social movements fueled with excitement. If the Republicans want to remove the Catholic fuel, they are foolish. They will lose and it will be their own fault.

Catholics are a powerful swing-vote demographic in the USA for most states. Republicans can't afford to offend them. Watch what happens.
