Today, we formally notified the entities that we will be stepping down from our duties as a member of the Pentad. We want to thank the members for their shared commitment to Cardano throughout our time working alongside them. Our immediate priority is the @secondfiapp recovery process, and we are concentrating our resources where they are needed most. We believe this is the right decision for our users and for the ecosystem, and it reflects the standard of accountability we hold ourselves to as a founding entity of Cardano. As stated by SecondFi, quarantine mode is being enabled this week, letting users check if a wallet address appears in preliminary incident data and submit a support ticket. Our intention is that next week, the secure wallet export will be deployed to help affected users safely move assets to a new wallet. On asset recovery, we continue to make progress with the recovery tool, initiated through a portal, that keeps users in control while protecting their information

Just to clarify — does "solving the white hat problem" mean removing the need to trust an administrator (e.g. EMURGO) when returning funds that were recovered via a white hat action, rather than preventing the emergency recovery itself? i.e. once someone proves seed ownership via ZK, the contract returns the funds automatically — making the return process fair, transparent, and trustless?

I've begun experimenting how to develop a recovery smart contract that can vend out from a pool of Ada and CNTs using a zero knowledge proof of possessing the 24 keywords that generate a wallet. I'll sync with @Quantumplation @SebastienGllmt and the Midnight team on what is discovered.

Big news: the RealFi Phase 1 Testnet goes live on 6 July. 🚀 This is our first public step toward next-generation stablecoin infrastructure on Cardano – and a direct response to a problem we've been vocal about: Crypto's clearest success story has scaled as money. But not as capital. Hundreds of billions of dollars sit idle in stablecoins: No utility. No impact on the real economy. We think that's a problem worth solving – and the Testnet is where we start. During Phase 1, participants can explore the platform, use its core features, and share feedback that will directly shape the protocol. This is collaborative infrastructure-building in public, and we want you involved. Read all about it, here 👇 realfi.co/blog/introduci…

@IOHK_Charles @Cardano_Power That's why there's a standing committee because all members (DRep) in Congress know all the bills being introduced after they know them all. I agree. There is no perfect democracy, so revision is inevitable.

To @IOHK_Charles , and the Cardano community Charles, I saw your video the other day in which you asked “where do we go from here?”and in which you were despairing about the negative behaviour of many. You are looking at it the wrong way. Humans are what they are. Now, Cardano humans have recently been asked to forget about all they know and use a new system of doing business. If they react with anger, frustration, spite etc, it means the system they have committed to isn’t good enough. Simple. They lash out in frustration, not malice. So we don’t need better humans, because those don’t exist. We need a better system. The current problem is pretty clear. We have a “one-pile-Treasury”that is supposed to finance anything anybody can think of that is in any possible way related to Cardano. Then we all get to fight about it. To make matters worse, none of us can possibly be masters of all topics, yet Dreps are asked to vote on all proposals, also on some topic matters they likely know little about . Not to mention the sheer volume of proposals they are meant to vote on. The solution is the following: Evolve the process: 1. Establish categories up front that Treasury Money gets to get spend on 2. Decide which field gets what percentage 3. Get the current and new Dreps to choose a category that they want to be Drep for, based on their personal expertise and passion. Outcome: - All categories of work needed to further develop Cardano are guaranteed their funding - Decisions on what to spend the funds on are now made by Dreps with expertise in their field Now the system works better, Cardano humans don’t get frustrated and stressed anymore, and we all go back to the mission of changing the world, powered by Cardano technology. @NaVi_GaT0R @Padierfind @adatainment @Josi_sndnc @YoramBenzvi @ADAFrog_Pool @AdamRusch @adanorthpool @ATADA_Stakepool @LaPetiteADA @phillip_pon @Laura_Mattiucci

You pushed a narrative that reckless treasury spending has to stop. Fair enough — that part is true. But the point is this: deciding what counted as "reckless" versus what was genuine, continuous development was made entirely on your own subjective judgment. Now that TapTools is collapsing, you say you'd support funding it if it goes to a vote. That feels contradictory. Whether your intent was good or not, your influence — combined with a bad market — helped push the community toward being skeptical of funding builders at all. Call it leading the narrative, or call it contributing to it, but you played a part. And honestly, TapTools is just the result. It's the symptom, not the disease. More of these are coming. Personally, I think Voltaire was applied to the Cardano roadmap too early. In a hyper-competitive environment where speed matters, getting to mass adoption sometimes requires an efficient, more centralized decision-making structure — there's a time and place for that. You need to take this TapTools situation as a wake-up call and bring more discernment to it. (For what it's worth — I'm one of your top 10 delegators.)

@CardanoHispano_ I'm supportive of the ecosystem and would be supportive of a treasury led acquisition of Taptools on the right terms and costs. So I'm definitely not voting against funding. I'm voting to fund things that really matter, are not optional and we need right now.

Just some thoughts. When a genuinely strong Cardano project and team reaches the point where operating costs make it unsustainable to continue, we should not treat that as a normal part of the market cycle. These moments tell us something. They tell us about the real economics of building. They tell us about the gap between ambition and operating reality. They tell us that infrastructure does not survive on sentiment, and that even really good teams eventually run out of room when the wider environment becomes too expensive, too uncertain, or too poorly directed. Cardano has a treasury, but the treasury is not infinite. ADA has a market, but the market is not immune to pressure. Builders have conviction, but conviction does not pay staff, legal costs, audits, maintenance, support, liquidity, or the quiet operational work that keeps useful products alive and profitable. This is why treasury spending matters in my opinion. If capital is deployed without clear priorities, without phases, without accountability, and without a serious understanding of the pressure it creates, the cost moves through the system. It becomes sell pressure. It becomes uncertainty. It becomes a harder environment for projects to survive in. It becomes another reason for builders to slow down, for teams to leave, and for SPOs to question whether maintaining infrastructure still makes sense, especially when a lot are already operating at a loss. That should worry us. A treasury should strengthen the blockchain. It should not become a mechanism that rewards proximity to funding while the people doing the difficult operational work are left absorbing the consequences because they decided to build on Cardano. At some point, we have to be honest about incentives. Many of the people constantly calling for more spending are not neutral observers. Most are actually direct beneficiaries. Some are indirect beneficiaries. Some sit close enough to the flow of capital that more spending naturally works in their favour one way or another. That does not make every proposal bad. It does not mean Cardano should stop funding useful work. It means we need to stop pretending that every call for more spending is automatically aligned with the long term health of the ecosystem. Because when serious projects wind down, users lose products they relied on. Builders lose tooling and examples of execution. The ecosystem loses trust. SPOs lose another signal that sustainability is being taken seriously. And Cardano loses part of the practical infrastructure that made the blockchain decentralized and unique in the first place. Decentralization is not only a technical design. It is also an economic condition. If the people securing, building, maintaining, and improving the system cannot operate sustainably, then decentralization becomes weaker in practice, regardless of how strong it looks on paper, and we are also seeing this play out right at the moment. Good projects closing down should make us pause, reflect and fight, we fight to get back into the top 10, instead of just about surviving in the top 15, and we improve. Not because one project defines Cardano, but because If capital allocation becomes consistent and careless, if operational costs keep rising, and if treasury spending becomes detached from measurable value, the blockchain continues to slowly tax the very people it needs most. They will tell us we need to spend more to capture commercial upside. Then they will attack the people asking for accountability, transparency, because accountability makes poorly structured spending harder to push through. That is the part we should pay attention to. The upside is often kept close to private interests, while ADA holders absorb the sell pressure, the ecosystem carries the risk, and everyone is asked to accept a future promise that revenue may return if the venture works. That is not how a treasury should be managed. It needs disciplined and strategic capital allocation, opportunity to all builders to contribute to it's core and put in a proposal to bring further competition and reduce core costs, it needs clear priorities, and enough respect for sustainability to protect the builders, projects, and operators who keep the ecosystem and blockchain alive. Just some Tuesday evening thoughts. To summarise, I would really just like to say what an amazing team TapTools have been, and how tremendous their impact on Cardano has been. I have used the platform every day for as long as I can remember. It became one of those products that quietly became part of the ecosystem’s daily infrastructure, not only for users, but for builders, projects, and anyone trying to understand what was happening on chain. The team always felt close to the community. Almost like family. That is rare, and it matters. I am genuinely going to miss them. 💙 @TapTools
