I have written to the Labour Party today to ask who the third party is that held my data, unbeknown to me, and lost it. My understanding is that such breaches must be notified to those affected within 72 hours. Yet the breach took place 5 days ago. Who is accountable for this?

I've analysed the accounts of @UKLabour for 2020. It's clear that the 2020 financial position deteriorated on all measures compared with 2019, and on all measures was the worst financial position since the Party emerged from debt in 2015.

I honestly believe that there is now such a lack of regard for rules and fair processes that even if the vote were against him they would ignore it. They would probably invent some bizarre rule that retrospectively renders all votes from members and unions void.

With Unite saying they won't endorse David Evans at conference I'm being asked will others follow? With CWU & FBU it's highly likely, and many member delegates will feel the same. Where will the GMB and Unison go? Personally don't see any upside for them in voting *for* Evans.

I cannot see how expelling members for being 'guilty by association' in any way makes Labour more electable. Just look at the popularity of the 2017 election manifesto, imagine it without the PLP/media attacking the leadership and imagine what where we could be as a party.

Former Labour MP Ruth Smeeth, who lied about being the victim of antisemitic abuse in 2018, was at the time listed as a 'strictly protect US informant'.
I wonder how many people knew this?

@PaulBrandITV Ruth Smeeth is named as a "strictly protect" US informant in cables sent from the US embassy in London (and published by @WikiLeaks). However we did not publish evidence showing that she was paid.

This was a hefty meeting & I unfortunately missed the end. For transparency on not necessarily the most important but more controversial issue - I voted for papers to auto-expel members of organisations besides Socialist Appeal.

As Tony Benn suggested, if the Labour Party could be bullied or persuaded to denounce its Marxists, the very notion of socialism itself could squeezed off the national agenda.
We urge all NEC members who believe in democracy and fairness to vote against tonight's proposals.
