Brazil’s President Lula slams Trump: “We can’t have someone thinking he’s the owner of the world and wakes up in the morning: I'll take Greenland I'll take the Panama Canal I'll take Cuba I'll take Venezuela I’ll bomb Iran Countries have sovereignty. And it must be respected.”

At @STWuk’s Coventry meeting last week, the message was clear: From Gaza and Iran to Cuba and Venezuela, US gangster imperialism continues to fuel genocide, war, destabilisation and mass suffering. And unlike Keir Starmer, the British public has learnt the lessons of Iraq. They oppose the illegal US-Israeli war on Iran and the use of UK bases to wage it. Not in our name.

🇬🇧 Jeremy Corbyn just told the truth Parliament won't: "The government is lying to you. Britain is directly involved in Trump's illegal war on Iran." Directly involved. Not just hosting bases. Not just selling weapons. Directly. RAF Fairford launched the bombers. British intel helped target. British silence enabled the killing. Corbyn named it. The government denied it. The people should believe the one with nothing to lose. Illegal war. Direct involvement. Government lies. Three truths. One voice. The establishment will ignore him. History won't.

We head to Cuba later this week as part of an international solidarity group to bring critical medical aid for the Cuban people. 🇨🇺 🇮🇪 To everyone who has assisted us gathering it, GRMA, we will travel with over 200kg of critical medicines. As the Taoiseach heads to Washington to shake the hand of a war monger, we'll be in Cuba where the island is being strangled and starved by the man who'll be handed shamrock.

I am delighted that the High Court has ruled in my favour on the key issues in the libel case brought by Raffi Berg. The court rejected the claimant’s interpretation of the article and ruled that it expressed an opinion based on stated material. I stand by my journalism and, if Mr Berg decides to continue the libel claim, I look forward to defending my article in court. I would like to thank my legal team at @RPCLegal, my barrister Aidan Eardley KC, and @DropSiteNews, which published the article and has stood by my journalism throughout.

Since the US and Israel began their illegal war on Iran, over 1,300 Iranians have been killed and nearly a third are children. At least 20 schools and 10 hospitals have been targeted. These are grave war crimes. In Lebanon, over 600 people have been killed including 86 children, and 700,000 people have been displaced. The UK must immediately end its complicity in this illegal war: no US use of UK bases, no arms sales, no surveillance support, no military cooperation. The British public don’t want to be America’s poodle anymore.

So far, this Iran operation is a cascade of worst‑case outcomes. • Iran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, collapsing tanker traffic by 80–90% and sending oil prices from about $65 to over $110 in just over a week. • U.S. operational costs: ~$1B per day. • Iranian drone and missile attacks have killed 7 Americans and wounded 18. • A likely U.S. strike on Feb 28 hit the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab, killing ~165–175 civilians—mostly schoolgirls aged 7–12z • Kuwait was expected to have ~18 days of storage before cuts, but began reducing oil output within 2–3 days of the blockade. • Iraqi oil production from its main southern fields has collapsed by 70%. • Qatar's Energy Minister Saad al-Kaabi warned Gulf exporters may halt production within days, potentially spiking oil to $150 per barrel within 2-3 weeks. • U.S. embassy evacuations collapsed into disaster: State Dept delayed approvals 1–4 days, facilities struck, thousands stranded amid closed airspace/airports, slow military/charter rollout. • Treasury issued a 30‑day OFAC waiver allowing India to continue purchasing Russian oil, reversing years of U.S. pressure discouraging those imports. • Iran’s Supreme Leader has been replaced by his more hardline son, Mojtaba Khamenei — and with Iran likely heavily protecting him, Trump’s likely push to remove him could take time, prolonging the crisis and its costs. • The Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow estimate for Q1 2026 growth plunged from 3.0% (Mar 2) to 2.1% (Mar 6) — a 0.9 pp drop in just four days. • U.S. gas prices jumped from about $2.95 to ~$3.40/gal in a week (≈40–60¢, one of the fastest increases ever), while diesel surged ~50–75¢ to ~$4.30–$4.50. • U.S. stocks have fallen since Feb 28: S&P 500 −2.0%, Dow −3.0%, Nasdaq −1–2%. • Despite hopes the strikes might trigger regime collapse, protests so far are nowhere near the scale of the January 2026 nationwide uprising. • The Fed’s ability to cut rates is constrained even with weak jobs data, as surging oil has pushed up inflation expectations.

BREAKING: This is quite something Qatar's energy minister has told the FT that war in the Middle East 'could bring down the economies of the world'. He says it will hit growth, push up energy bills and lead to shortages of products Saad al-Kaabi said that even if the war ended immediately it would take Qatar 'weeks to months' to return to normal deliveries after the Ras Laffan plant was bombed by Iran While only a small proportion of Qatar's gas goes to Europe, the halt in production means there will be a global bidding war for what remains on the market “This will bring down the economies of the world,” he said. “If this war continues for a few weeks, GDP growth around the world will be impacted. Everybody’s energy price is going to go higher. There will be shortages of some products and there will be a chain reaction of factories that cannot supply.” This is Qatar telling the US in the strongest possible terms to bring the conflict to an end or everyone will face the consequences...

Today parents in Iran buried 165 children killed in the attack on a girls’ primary school by the United States and Israel. From Gaza to Iran, this is what “liberation” by the West looks like.

Congratulations to Hannah Spencer and the Green Party on a historic by-election win in Gorton & Denton, beating Reform and pushing Labour into third. From smears of “sectarianism” and “family voting” to claims her win was down to “a coalition of Islamists and woke progressives”, it was great to see Hannah use her victory speech to stand with the Muslim community.

With a two-hour delay, the BBC could’ve removed the N-word slur from its BAFTA coverage, and chose not to. Meanwhile, it cut Akinola Davies Jr saying “Free Palestine”. A clear editorial decision driven by fear of pro-Israel lobby groups. Shame on them.

Malcolm X assassinated on this day in 1965: After visiting Gaza, Malcolm X wrote the essay ‘Zionist Logic’ "In short the Zionist argument to justify Israel's present occupation of Arab Palestine has no intelligent or legal basis in history...not even in their own religion." This was his conclusion. Here are important excerpts from the rest of the essay: "The Israeli Zionists are convinced they have successfully camouflaged their new kind of colonialism. Their colonialism appears to be more benevolent, more philanthropic, a system with which they rule simply by getting their potential victims to accept their friendly offers of economic aid, and other tempting gifts, that they dangle in front of the newly-independent African nations, whose economies are experiencing great difficulties." "Did the Zionists have the legal or moral right to invade Arab Palestine, uproot its Arab citizens from their homes and seize all Arab property for themselves just based on the 'religious' claim that their forefathers lived there thousands of years ago? Only a thousand years ago the Moors lived in Spain. Would this give the Moors of today the legal and moral right to invade the Iberian Peninsula, drive out its Spanish citizens, and then set up a new Moroccan nation...as the European Zionists have done to our Arab brothers and sisters in Palestine?" "The modern 20th century weapon of neo-imperialism is 'dollarism.’ The Zionists have mastered the science of dollarism: the ability to come posing as a friend and benefactor, bearing gifts and all other forms of economic aid and offers of technical assistance. Thus, the power and influence of Zionist Israel in many of the newly 'independent' African nations has fast-become even more unshakeable than that of the 18th century European colonialists...and this new kind of Zionist colonialism differs only in form and method, but never in motive or objective."

African American revolutionary Malcolm X was assassinated on this day in 1965. Here’s Malcolm on whether he fears being assassinated: ‘No I don’t. I’m a man who believes that I died 20 years ago. I live like a man who is dead already. I have no fear whatsoever of anybody, or anything.’ •Malcolm X was under constant surveillance by the FBI. •He was also monitored by the NYPD’s Bureau of Special Services •The FBI ran COINTELPRO, a program designed to disrupt Black nationalist groups and civil rights organisations. •The FBI had informants inside the Nation of Islam and there is documented evidence of efforts to create divisions and paranoia within Black political movements. Several members of Malcolm X’s family believe that the US government was involved in his assassination, or at least covered it up. Evidence was withheld in the original trial, and two of the men convicted of the murder of Malcolm X were later exonerated. The US government had every motive to kill Malcom X, and ensure that one of the greatest black revolutionary voices in the history of the US was silenced.

With his brilliant Black Baptist preacher speech-making - like Martin Luther King - Jesse Jackson was one of the greatest political orators of our generation. Twice, in 1984 and 1988, he got millions of people - young, progressive, Black and white - fired up to support his bid to become Democratic nominee for US President. Many of us thought this was a huge opportunity to break from the pro-establishment Democrats and create a new progressive party to the left of it. But, like Jeremy Corbyn with Labour in 2019, he refused and it was a lost opportunity for those of us who were politically homeless. When I once met him in London, and joked that, with his big eyes and forehead, we looked alike he wasn't amused @TheVoiceNews @labourlewis @M_Star_Online @AaronBastani @novaramedia @TheCanaryUK
