The Chicago Bulls have waived Jaden Ivey for "conduct detrimental" after he made anti-LGBTQ remarks on an Instagram livestream. Ivey, who was recently shut down for the season with knee pain, criticized the NBA’s Pride Month advocacy as "unrighteousness" in his third inflammatory video this week. As reported earlier, a growing number of fans on social media have expressed issues with the NBA's support of Pride events in recent weeks. Ivey was drafted as the 5th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons in the 2022 NBA Draft.

LeBron James, appearing on Steve Nash's "Mind the Game" podcast, joked about guest diversity by suggesting Spurs big man Luke Kornet should come on to discuss the recent Atlanta Hawks’ Magic City strip club controversy. The league's decision to axe the Magic City strip club sponsored event in the name of "family values" has sparked an unexpected debate online after fans across social media have demanded that if the league is going to strictly police its family-friendly image, it should also suspend official Pride Night events hosted by teams across the NBA. The Thunder won this one at the line. 38 free throw attempts to 17 for the Knicks- that’s an 18-point gap at the stripe in an 11-point game. That’s a big part of the story.

When it comes to MVP discussions, @getnickwright doesn't think Wemby is even a top 10 offensive player.

@SpursReporter I am a Spurs fan and I have always known Gervin as “The Iceman” and not as “Iceman”. I believe Caleb will get his Iceman trademark approved.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams recently filed four trademark applications to legally claim the "Iceman" nickname for his own clothing and merchandise line, but Spurs legend George "The Iceman" Gervin is officially fighting back. Just days after Williams submitted his paperwork, the 73-year-old Spurs legend filed his own competing trademark applications for both "Iceman" and "Iceman 44." In his legal filings, Gervin's team made sure to point out that he has been using the moniker commercially since 1979- a full 22 years before Caleb Williams was even born. Gervin has also gone to the press to defend his legacy, flat-out stating: "There's only one Iceman, and I am he."

@SpursReporter @GetUpESPN More and more voting media members are saying that Wemby deserves MVP. That can't be good for SGA. There are only so many MVP voters.

I said 2 years ago the NBA will be irrelevant in America within 15 years. People laughed. But this is how it starts. First ratings decline, then fan interest declines, then local media revenue declines. You don’t lose cultural dominance overnight, you slowly become less relevant until it finally shows up in the business side all at once.
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The NBA has informed teams that the league is projecting a $165 million salary cap for 2026-27 -- $1M lower than previous outlooks due to a reduction in local media revenue, sources tell ESPN. Minimum salary $149M, tax level $201M, first apron $209M, second apron $222M also $1M lower each.

This is who NBA scouts said Dylan Harper reminded them of before the draft… 👀 And the Rockets- who watched Harden up close for years- were some of the highest on him. Do you agree with the comp?

@JayErnani @SpursReporter That's probably why the question was “based on what he does night in and night out” and not on winning anything yet. Read it again.

@SpursReporter Whoever asked that gotta chill, can’t be top 20 in the history with no rings, no MVPs, no FMVPs. I mean Bill Walton was on his way to stardom, but injuries derailed his career. Grant Hill & so many others. Wemby’s potential is unlimited, but he’s gotta realize it first

Striving for excellence and Wembanyama's mentality. He’s a young competitor who hates leaving ANYTHING to chance, and his words gave us a glimpse into the standard he holds himself- and everyone around him- to. Seriously, is any franchise a better fit for him than the Spurs?

You had me excited until you mentioned the 2024–2025 Pacers. They fell off a cliff year over year. If balanced scoring from multiple players is the formula, how did they implode after losing just one player? Don’t get me wrong, I think the Spurs are a completely different animal (or maybe a coyote). But the Pacers comparison definitely curbed my enthusiasm.

The Spurs are close to setting a rare NBA record as the only team with eight players averaging 10 or more points per game. The last time an NBA team had this much offensive depth over a full season was the 1981-82 Denver Nuggets, who are widely considered the gold standard for high-octane, "everybody eats" basketball. That squad had eight players in double figures and averaged a league-record 126.5 points per game. The Prioritize Ball Movement: The Spurs currently rank 2nd in the league in assists per game. Feature Elite Bench Depth: Players like Keldon Johnson and Dylan Harper would be starters on many other teams but are providing starting-level production off the bench for San Antonio. Avoid "Hero Ball" by Design: Even with a superstar like Wemby, the offense is designed to find the open man The 2024-25 Indiana Pacers (last season) came incredibly close to this feat and actually had eight players average 10+ PPG during their NBA Finals run, but maintaining that balance over the grueling 82-game season is what makes this current Spurs run so statistically significant and magnificent.
