@DryToast2810 Anyone seen Jeff Nichols' MIDNIGHT SPECIAL? That was a homage to Spielberg and did the same thing Spielberg is doing here. Just throwing you into the story.

Say what you want about Disclosure Day but I think that yet another admirable quality of Spielberg is that he throws us into this story at the start of Act 2 and trusts the viewer to figure out what’s happened after 20 minutes, once they realise there’s no “3 Days Earlier” screen

Omg a bunch of stuff just clicked The reason why the wish at the end proves that Bear never really loved Nikki is because its only after the wish is made that he accepts death to save the real Nikki from the hell he put her in
ArtE@qk_du

The best part of Obsession is that Bear probably would’ve thrown up the pills if the wish didn’t stop him In the end Bear doesn’t have the guts to save Nikki himself The only reason she is ever set free is because Bear’s freewill is taken by the version of Nikki he wished for

@LtheL999 @PlateArmorMouse @qk_du Because he's scared and insecure. He can't see it through. But then his focus shifts due to the wish and forgetting about the pills. You see his demeanor change when the wish is made.

Chase Infiniti reveals she didn’t tell any of her friends she was starring in “One Battle After Another” until they all saw the trailer: "I hadn’t even seen the final cut yet. And I didn’t tell anybody that I was in the movie until the trailer started to play before ‘Sinners’ at the movie theater and then Brad [Alexander, her co-star] came to set and told everybody that I was in a Paul Thomas Anderson movie." wp.me/pc8uak-1lHmRf

Obsession (2026) What makes the scene so unsettling is that it’s the first time Bear questions the fantasy version of Nikki created by the wish. The moment he doubts her story, her behavior unravels — and many viewers see it as the point where the film shifts into full psychological horror.

@dovianax @HorrorCarnival I live in an area of my city with multiple nightlife venues, but also work in a venue that has hundreds of thousands of visits yearly where we have to comply with the law on certain rules. I'm not seeing a clear distinction on who is more publicly creating a spectacle.

@InADarkCave @HorrorCarnival I don’t ignore them. I acknowledge the discrepancy in the amount of men that do this versus women. The amount of times I see a man trying to de-escalate a situation a woman is trying to turn into a public spectacle verifies this. Go out this weekend. Tell me what you see.

@InADarkCave @HorrorCarnival The reason you use too think that is because men have been feminized and have adopted women’s less desirable traits. So you’re not wrong in that assessment. Which ironically makes women less attracted to them while asking where the real men are. Lol

@dovianax @HorrorCarnival My experience is that individuals in both sexes have public outbursts. I have seen more men causing spectacle with screaming and fighting. I used to think women were more manipulative, but i learned men can behave the same way.

@InADarkCave @HorrorCarnival Men have their issues too. But this level of public outburst and spectacle is a predominantly female trait. Especially because they have an audience, which in their head, protects them from his reaction.

@HorrorCarnival What makes the scene so unsettling is the fact that so many men identify with being in this position with a woman, where you understand that the idealized view you had of her made you blind to an unhinged reality you didn’t want to accept.

@evildante888 @_nilliewelson @wrestletaleszay This is why i like the choice to not make him explicitly evil, because you could look at and talk about his actions and maybe reflect on your own decisions where you might be, or have been, morally wrong and possibly do evil.

@InADarkCave @_nilliewelson @wrestletaleszay But evil is done on purpose it’s very deliberate. it almost feels like people aren’t looking at it through a realistic lens, if you @InADarkCave Went to a crystal shop and found some gift that claims to grant wishes would you in reality as you know it expect it to work?

@evildante888 @_nilliewelson @wrestletaleszay I agree that no one is perfect. We indeed have unattainable or unrealistic desires or thoughts that can be selfish. Acting upon those is the threshold of it becoming evil. He took away her control. Even in the scenario of her maybe liking him, but not able to give consent.

@jennykrakovsky The rendering is great and getting better and better, but from a filmmaking perspective, this is uninspired composition and missing clear motivation. I surely am missing context, otherwise that crane shot makes no sense. Although it is neat. But that is style without substance.

DAY 5 of Making a feature film with AI in 30 days. Here's another rough cut. Scene Three. Not the final cut so still some issues to fix around sound and that flickering (does anyone have a fix for that btw?) I'll be posting my tutorial on how I made this in a couple hours as part of my 30 day challenge. I'll be posting all the prompts in the description on YouTube so you can try them out yourself.

If I measure how good a horror movie by how scary it is, I wouldn’t like any horror movie (I haven’t been scared by a horror movie since I was 8yrs old) HORROR MOVIES are more than jump scares, there is atmosphere, gore, tension, subtext, body-horror, score, the list goes on. Do I find Obsession scary (in the classic sense)? no, but I find Obsession tense, uncomfortable, gory, gross (I say that as a complement), sad, destructive physically and emotionally, the best HORROR movie of 2026.
Javo, Lack of surprises tweet media
chris@nightcrawlingxx

I've seen a few people say Obsession isnt scary because theres only 1 jump scare. Let me make myself very clear: If you need a horror movie to make you jump every 5 minutes to like it, then you like very generic, bland, bad horror movies.
