There is no stat holiday for Ramadan. No official holiday day for Passover. No official holiday day for Vaisakhi. No official holiday day for Lunar New Year. No official holiday day for Nowruz. No official holiday for Kwanzaa. So why do have three holiday days for Easter?

She's in grade 1 and can properly read warnings on the computer and my little pony books on her own. She gets earlier access to the world by learning early.

Some important data to consider. Public, Separate, and Francophone students make up 92.2% of Alberta students and receive 94.7% of the funding. Independent schools and ECS operators make up 6.3% of Alberta students and only receive 4.1% of the funding...

@AllTheRage08 @AdrianaLaGrange And finally, I would know because *I* went to non charter schools that were 'fine' but it's simply not a good solution compared to charter schools (which are public schools) which my younger bro and sis got to go to.

@AllTheRage08 @AdrianaLaGrange Uh, my kids go to charter school, and I chose it because of the focus on traditional learning and learning to read in Kindergarten. My family is not fringe. We're a normal racialized family who just wants our kids to do well in life.

@AdrianaLaGrange Then maybe those students should go to public schools. That additional 6.3% would do a lot of good in our underfunded public schools and I sure as hell do not want my tax dollars to go to some fringe, RWNJ indoctrinating charter school.

Public Charter School students make up 1.5% of Alberta students and only receive 1.2% of funding. The Alberta government supports all of these students and their families as part of our public education system. #AbEd #AbLeg

Let us be clear: Refugees have never been a burden, but imperialism has. The readiness for countries to accept refugees when they're white vs Black & Brown or from predominantly Black & Brown countries must be acknowledged. All ppl facing violence deserve safety.
