‘Narcissistic envy’ is NOT a product of shame & low self esteem, although some academics claim this. Dark personalities, particularly those who have not accomplished much in life, may experience a powerful merging of profound entitlement/strong ego with pathological anger when they observe something in another person they believe they deserve. This creates a highly dangerous state in the dark personality. They will universally attempt to destroy the person they envy while at the same time trying to become them. They will go to the extent of copying their target’s language, communication style, dress, even creating attachments to people in the life of the target. It’s a deeply disturbing and pathologically dangerous phenomenon.
