@lecockeroxyPL @SamaHoole The truth is the truth regardless of who says it.
English

@LeftHandDagger @SamaHoole Based on research done and published by Seventh Day Adventists. 🙄🤣
English

The Seventh-day Adventists are plant-based. They live longer than average Americans. This gets cited constantly as evidence that not eating meat extends your life.
The Mormons eat meat. They live just as long.
Both groups don't smoke. Both groups don't drink. Both groups have strong community bonds, regular religious practice, and lower stress.
The Adventists themselves aren't even mostly vegetarian: only about 27% are lacto-ovo vegetarians, and less than 3% are vegan. Over half eat meat regularly.
What the studies actually show is that not smoking, not drinking, and having a reason to get out of bed extends your life.
The meat is a red herring.

I had a friend who changed her diet to whole foods plant-based.
She was encouraging others to do it, too, and she was giving out advice.
Her #1 piece of advice? Ease into it.
Me: "Why?"
Her: "Because a plant-based diet consists of a lot of fiber which can be hard on the gut. You have to ease into it, eating a little bit of fiber at a time, then over a few months, gradually increase your fiber intake as tolerated."
Me: "What happens if I don't ease into it?"
Her: "You could have terrible bloating, abdominal discomfort, gas, and even trouble with bowel movements."
If you have to ease into a diet for fear of wrecking your gut, then that way of eating sounds like it hurts the gut more than helps it.
I didn't ease into carnivore.
In just 1 day, I went from eating a high plant-based diet with lean meats and low-fat dairy straight to carnivore. And my gut loved it.
You know what the gut likes?
Animal fat.

@SamaHoole @LeftHandDagger Why to likes for sama but two for Andrew?

The soy industry kills the Amazon.
This needs saying plainly, because somehow it has been filed under "environmental problems with meat" when soy is the thing doing it.
Brazil is the world's largest soy producer. Between 2001 and 2020, soy expansion drove the loss of millions of hectares of Cerrado and Amazon forest. This soy, and here is where the story performs a disappearing act, is overwhelmingly used to produce soybean oil, with the defatted meal then sold as animal feed. The oil is the product. The chickens get the leftovers. The deforestation is happening to make the cooking oil in your shop-bought hummus.
Glyphosate use on soy is among the highest of any agricultural commodity on Earth.
Then the nutrition. Soy contains phytoestrogens, isoflavones, that structurally resemble oestrogen and bind to oestrogen receptors. Whether this matters at normal consumption levels is contested. What isn't contested: the cumulative exposure across soy protein isolate in protein bars, meat alternatives, infant formula, and oat milk is not being tracked by anyone.
Soy also contains phytic acid, lectins, and trypsin inhibitors. Traditional fermented preparations: miso, tempeh, natto, break these down substantially. Soy protein isolate, ultra-processed and added to half the products in the wellness aisle, does not.
The protein content is real. The amino acid profile is reasonable for a plant. These facts exist.
But a product that cleared the Amazon, is littered with defensive toxins, runs on glyphosate, and arrives in your protein bar as a hexane-extracted isolate has somehow become the healthy and environmentally ethical choice.
At least the cow ate grass.

I appreciate you informing me. This makes the situation worse than I previously understood.
If you knew that, then why would you continue to protect big animal agriculture?
The soy grown to feed chicken and pigs, displaces cattle, and drives them further into the rainforest.
You knowingly deceive people, making it seem like the deforestation is a result of people consuming oil, when it is largely to do with flesh eating.
If it wasn’t for flesh eating it might not even be financially worthwhile to chop down the forest to grow soy.
English

@LeftHandDagger Most of the feed goes to chicken and pigs, not cattle.

@SamaHoole As a former SDA, I'll just note that most of the vegetarian ones I've met are morbidly obese.

Type 2 diabetes is caused by intramyocellur fat in the cells.
Sugar trapped in the blood stream is the effect not the cause.
What causes type 2 diabetes is animal products and oil.
Low carb animal based diets make people even more diabetic. The longer one is on this diet the more metabolic damage happens.

We grieve away the Spirit by persistent sinning. The sin against the Holy Ghost is not a single act but the continual refusal to open up the heart to Christ. Every sin makes the entreaties of the Spirit weaker. Sin stops appearing to be heinous.
To be sealed by the Spirit is to have the commandments written on the heart. It brings the Christian to the point that he will choose death rather than sin.
English

I appreciate this brother's zeal and his commitment to standing firm in the Christian faith. But Oliver is wrong here.
Christians are warned not to live in deliberate, unrepentant sin. That is serious. But Scripture also teaches that believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13-14), "who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance."
Persistent sin may bring discipline, not the loss of the Spirit.
Oliver Burdick@oliverburdick
If you keep purposefully sinning after becoming a Christian, God will remove his Spirit from you.
English

@Deano8182 The papacy admits that change can’t be found in the Bible, and they take responsibility for changing it. They also genocided all the ancient Sabbath keeping groups like the Waldensians.
The Bible also speaks of the antichrist changing times and laws.
English

@EdwdPrice @SamaHoole If soy were really grown mainly for oil, 80% of the crop wouldn’t be used as cattle food.
Secondly, the forest was cleared for cattle, not soy.
English

@LeftHandDagger @SamaHoole The cattle are displaced because the grasslands are ploughed up for Soya production.
The byproducts are used as a valuable livestock feed, but the primary product is the soy oil.
English

@Lakesman5 @SamaHoole In the 1900s the average American ate 300 lb of wheat per year and half the amount of flesh. Refined flour was a popular food item in the 19th century.
English

Nope, nice bit of gaslighting. When did obesity become a "thing" after centuries of man eating meat? Clue - after WW2.
Added Sugars & Refined Carbs: High intake of added sugars (sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup) is strongly associated with weight gain.
Physical Inactivity: Sedentary lifestyles and reduced physical activity mean fewer calories are burned, contributing to positive energy balance.
The true Carnivore Diet is the opposite of what you claim.

The fastest way to fatten a pig is whole grains.
Not fat. Not protein. Whole grains. Every pig farmer knows this. It is the entire economic model of intensive pig farming.
Now.
Can someone explain why the NHS recommends whole grains as the foundation of a weight loss diet?
I'm not saying we're the same as pigs.
I'm saying that if you were trying to make something gain weight efficiently, and you knew exactly how to do it, and then recommended that exact protocol to something you weren't trying to fatten...
you'd have some questions to answer.
The pig farmer isn't confused.
He just isn't asked.

@yesiwetmyplants Christ suffered and died for everyone. The difference is that the wicked do not take hold of God’s unmerited grace.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
