An Appeal to my Friends: It's not often that an election has a direct impact on our lives, but the last election did in many ways. After years of fighting in Afghanistan, the new administration came in and wiped away anything productive we have done in the past 20 years. They did it so they could have a photo of on 1 SEP 2024, finally ending our time there. Instead, the country turned into chaos and 13 marines and soldiers died. US weapons, aircraft and vehicles are now used by the taliban to wage terror against their own people. I think about that every day. I think about my contribution to that disaster. I feel as though I abandoned the people I was supposed to help. Then comes the first week of September 2021. The vaccine mandate for federal employees was keeping Sophia up at night. Even though she was only 3 months postpartum and already had covid months before, she was told it was required to take the shot or she would lose her job. I begged her to not do it and hold out until they figure out the laws on the mandate, but she decided it was best. Within 3 days, she was in a full blown body shut down, suffering what we would find out to be mast cell activation syndrome. It is a reaction that releases histamines in every organ system in the body. She could not walk, so I had to carry her to the car and take her to the ER, where I was not allowed to stay with her. The following two years were a frustrating attempt to find answers from a medical industry hell-bent on not admitting any flaws in their approach to covid. We had to leave military medical care and pay in excess of $10,000 out of pocket to get Sophia the care she needed. She had to stop breastfeeding Avery out of her fear of passing along what happened to her. She couldn't walk straight with balance for months. They tried convincing her it was all in her head. They even thought I was planting the idea in her head that the vaccine did this! It turned her world upside down for years. I'm not one to campaign for candidates. I may have strong opinions, but one of the opinions is that these politicians barely ever hold up their end of the bargain. In this case, I beg you to not forget that first year of the Biden administration. They abandoned Afghanistan and then forced every soldier to take an experimental vaccine that harmed my wife. Those two years were a disastrous blur for my family. We were damaged in ways that we may not recover. I believe in your rights to choose who you want and respect your decisions, but please think long and hard about whether you want to give a second chance to the people who did this to my family. Regardless of your vote, I love you all and pray today for your health, happiness, and strong connection to GOD.
