Beyond excited to share that I have accepted a role as the Baseball Professional Services Lead with @TruMediaSports ! This company has played a huge part in the day to day work I put in as a MiLB hitting coach the last 3 years and I couldn’t be happier to join their team!

The sport of college baseball keeps growing. 🚀 And the people of college baseball are second to none. One of my favorite communities in all of sports. Happy Opening Day to all who celebrate.

Kyle Schwarber’s 4 HRs from Thursday night. In his age 32 year, Schwarber is having arguably the best season of his career heading into FA. His .956 OPS is on pace to beat his career high .928 in 2021. His 26.1% K rate is also the lowest mark of his career since 2019 (25.6%)

Coach Van Horn gave me a hit & run against Baylor in 2002. I completely missed the sign and left our runner out to dry and he was thrown out. DVH was clearly pissed. In the dugout he glared and said, "I suggest you find someone to review the signs for you or you won't be on the field much longer." I said, sorry. He went straight to me and said, in so many words, "don't ever apologize. You think I think you did it on purpose? You play the game with everything you got and when you f up, you learn, grow, and come back better." It wasn't those exact words, but close, and in his own way and with his impressive intensity that is hard to explain unless you've been in his crosshairs. That was 23 years ago. I only say this because you want a coach that is CONSISTENT. You may not like what he has to say, but it is CONSISTENT. He told me not to apologize for something relatively small, in a game nowhere near the moment of last night. I was also not anywhere close to the impact player of Davalan. I was just another guy. Yet, last night, in one of the most difficult situations to swallow, he was CONSISTENT. Regardless of the ability of the player or moment of the situation, you need consistency from your leader. Impressive post game interview.

Paul Skenes and Jayden Daniels: both Rookie of the Year in their leagues, both breaking all kinds of rookie records while doing it… With Jayden Daniels, the talk is he’ll be Washington’s QB for the next 15+ years. With Paul Skenes, the talk is what type of value you can get back for him. All I’m saying is we as baseball are gonna have a hard time making new friends if we keep this up 🤷🏻
