We’re five days after this incident and neither the times nor the post nor anyone else has managed to reveal the two Trump staffers who assaulted this woman? In front of tons of witnesses? In a notoriously leaky campaign? Not taking the story remotely seriously.

One of Trump’s best qualities is one he’s most hated for by the Regime, namely, that he takes pride in being able to have a civil working relationship with other world leaders, even if they are not our friends. He brags about getting along with Xi, Kim, Putin and others, and understands, like most statesmen before the end of the Cold War, that you have to be able to talk to these people and have them trust your words, even if you don’t like them. It’s rare in America these days, and should be a bigger deal at a time when most Western leaders look at the world and see only Churchills, Hitlers, and Hitler-appeasers.

Trump is unique among malignant narcissists in being of below average intelligence, inarticulate, and poorly read. Many non-political malignant narcissists (Ted Bundy) had high IQ's. And even "cult of personality" malignant narcissists (Jim Jones), were literate and sharp. The pervasiveness and persuasiveness of cult leaders is usually enhanced by their intelligence and articulacy. Trump is such a loud, boorish, and obvious con, that his political rise speaks as much to our celebrity culture, our consuming of media in echo chambers, his craven enablers, and our aggrieved society. This convergence has created a phenomenon that's made too much of our electorate sadly susceptible. Bringing this to "now," because Trump achieved the presidency and the grandiosity associated with it, it is now surreal to us, and inconceivable to him, that he faces utter and total defeat AT THE SAME TIME as being a candidate to get it back. BUT - and this is the point of this tweet - BECAUSE he's such an idiot, and so owned by his disorders, he can't navigate the moment. He's become too old, too desperate, too fearful and unable to process his own mortification, and utterly unable to play from behind. All he has are his cravings, desperation and toxicity. He has no smarts, no patience, no strategy, no craftiness. And no incoming narcissistic nutrition. You can see it more clearly now, because - there's nothing else! His decline is unmistakable. His demise will be spectacular.

Speaking only for myself, it's the single biggest disappointment of the Trump era. I understand a narcissistic sociopath. I understand grift. I understand lust for power in a two-tiered system. I even understand the malignant normality of a cult. BUT - the cravenness of the media's pursuit of profit over journalistic accuracy, democracy and - I'd argue - patriotism ... with very few exceptions ... this is so disappointing and frankly, wasn't on my bingo card. FFS, it's just money ... where will their fruits grow if there's no free press?

It truly is amazing to me that Trump can have daily psychotic meltdowns on Truth Social replete with threats, misogyny, and fascistic fantasies, in between hawking overpriced trinkets depicting himself alternatively as Rambo & Superman, and media just yawns and ignores it all.

I understood why Kamala Harris wasn't doing interviews before - she was getting her policy proposals hammered out behind the scenes before the convention. But now there are no more excuses. She needs to do interviews, a lot of them. We're picking a president here. It's important.

Fascinating to see the huge gulf between some older Democrats and younger ones on Israel-Palestine and Palestinians in general. The youth and the future view them as oppressed, empathize with them, and want them to be free. Older base seems to barely see them as humans and mostly as Hamas or an inconvenience. Dem electeds are slowly but surely realizing the trend.
