It's a good time to restate: Trump CANNOT and DOES NOT see beyond himself. He is NOT strategic - he is transactional. He is a walking talking "id." He only pivots from self-interest, and cannot shut up or stop, even when it serves his interest. He is a dangerous malignant narcissist, who is returning to power during cognitive decline, OWNED by disorders.

Am I the only one who thinks the GOP's push on the SAVE Act fizzled? I expected more from them. It turned out to be a big nothing. A very low energy affair.

The party in power in America today has no shame. It has no contrition. It doesn't have a ton of empathy either. This happens when you have a raging Cluster B disordered individual at the very top, and millions of imitative fearful and disenfranchised dopamine addicts with pet grievances underneath, all being manipulated by grifters and opportunists.

@DavidAFrench I wish you'd have at least mentioned his pathology, fixation on grandiosity, other fixation on avoiding humiliation, and/or the likelihood that many of his behaviors are best explained by him being compromised.

I want to see the military open the Strait of Hormuz as quickly and painlessly as possible. I want to see the Iranian regime collapse and replaced by a democracy. But I can't blind myself to reality. This is not how our democracy should go to war. Trump is not the right man to lead our nation into battle. People I respect applaud Trump for his courage in taking on Iran. But I don’t see courage. I see recklessness. I see thoughtlessness. I see a man who plunged a nation into a conflict without fully comprehending the risks. I see a man full of hubris after achieving success in much more limited military engagements. The Markwayne Mullin vote in the Senate was a chance for Congress to show it would take Trump’s cabinet picks seriously. They didn’t. We are where we are, in part, because Congress keeps confirming deeply unqualified people to run this country. These failures should be remembered

Holy shit. Even for Trump this is bad.

The chaos that has become commonplace from Trump 2.0, on a daily basis, often obfuscates the true root causes of problems. Chaos is often an authoritarian strategy, but sometimes, what it obfuscates, is WAY worse than what leads the news cycle. I want to speak about Russia. Lessening sanctions on them, over our allies' objections, hurts the free world substantially. And now that we know they're helping Iran target and harm our troops and interests - come on! Russia should NEVER be overlooked. Because they are Trump's Original Sin. His fealty to Putin, likely borne of compromise, is as central to Trump's betrayal of America as Jan 6. His incessant chiding of it by saying: Russia, Russia, Russia - is a pathological giveaway that it IS a root issue. And don't even get me started at the sociopathic self-dealing duo of Witkoff and Kushner. If I had the opportunity to speak to GOP officials, especially in the Senate, the first thing I'd yell at them, is: PROTECT OUR TROOPS - RE-SANCTION RUSSSIA!!
