@Zachariahskylab @roddreher I am a Christian. While the Jews are God’s chosen people the Old Testament is replete with instances of them doing things that make God angry. I believe the ethnic cleansing occurring in Palestine is one such instance.

I cannot stress strongly enough to you younger saints how much difference daily prayer makes. Here in my older years, I look back in wonder over countless times God either intervened — often in “what just happened??” kind of ways — or uncannily strengthened us to endure.

My father passed away this morning. Among his many other achievements (being a great dad included), he helped create the HPV vaccine, and I’m so proud he was my dad.

Can I talk about something I've been thinking about lately? Over the summer, I went to a knitting group. They were talking about a local craft reuse store, and i said how expensive the yarn was, and someone said "well, I'd never buy yarn used, gross" and everyone agreed.

We damage the dignity of others when we refuse to wait for them – whether they need to tie their own shoes or they are struggling to find words for the indescribable.  We bestow honor on another when we consider him or her worth waiting for.

If one group is using children as human shields unbeknownst to anyone else, they are solely responsible for what happens to the children. But if a second group finds out the first group is using children as human shields and decides to drop bombs on them anyway, both groups are now responsible for what happens to the children. I can’t believe this needs to be said.
