@ptung8 No it isn't. They've made it once in the last 4 seasons, and even that season they were bad for 80% of it. The Red Wings aren't the new Sabres at all, the Sabres had several top 5 picks over their drought, the Red Wings have had one and routinely pick in the teens.

I deleted my #stlblues thread because I realize no one cares what I think, but I'll just say dropping from 2nd to 11th in the draft order in a month is a catastrophically bad result for how awful this team was for 80% of the season. Pick a direction or become the new Red Wings.

@danreilly I enjoy watching winning hockey too, but I also don't want my team to become the new Red Wings, who haven't made the playoffs in a decade but have only picked in the top 5 once. It's hard to get excited for a team like that.

Do I understand this talking point correctly? The Bengals are okay taking a corner because Turner and Hill are at the end of their contracts but they're not okay taking a safety even though Battle is at the end of his contract?

The ending of the #stlblues season can only be described as disappointing. Not because I want them to lose, but because this is 4 seasons in a row they've done this. I hope they can pick a direction this off-season, because being stuck in the middle ain't it.
