Solar panels and farms go together superbly. Politicians shouldn’t be telling farmers and landowners what they can do with their own land. Farmers know best.

Will solar PV soon be the cheapest source of electricity in most places around the world? This @NatureComms paper says yes. Most surprisingly this is AFTER including short- and long-term storage costs for renewable energy sources. nature.com/articles/s4146…

The impact this would actually have on food security is so minuscule as to be laughable. Anyone actually serious about improving food security would be looking at encouraging people to eat a bit less meat, investing in more climate resilient agriculture, and banning golf courses.

@ShaunSpiers1 @RobertJenrick How about letting farmers decide whether they want to use some of their least productive to generate the steady income that solar provides while also tackling the climate and nature crisis?
