I, baptized as an infant into catholicism but raised Protestant, primarily in the Assemblies of God (and as such they will always have a special place in my heart), but became an unfaithful Christian during my time in the Navy, it's hard to go to church when you're at sea for half the year, came home to Rome in with my Confirmation on 20APR2024. I am finally getting back into a morning routine to study the scriptures. Not because the catholic church told me not to, but because I'm bad at routines and I'm finally disciplined enough(I hope and pray) to do so. I've been a Catholic for 6.5 years. It's possible that I have missed a few days of Bible reading in that time, but it would be unusual. I skipped a few meals and showers, too, but mostly, I read the Bible every day. The Catholic Church "forcefully exhorts" it. #Bible #Catholic

@oliverburdick I believe it is mostly literary, as a rebuttal against the epic of Gilgamesh. I do believe that humanity came from Adam and Eve and the ages of the lineage are literal. I don't see any evidence to contradict it. I don't eee evidence for macro evolution.

Do you believe the creation account in the first chapter of Genesis is a literal story of how God made the universe?
